Biography

Early years (46-41 BBY)

Almost from birth Darian Ordo was challenged to survive. As an infant his family was forced to flee their home world ahead of a deadly virus that wiped out most of their planet’s population. Heir to the helm of Mand'alor from his ancestor Canderous Ordo, Darian was destined for greatness. Unfortunately, his father did not agree with the Mandalorian philosophy and feared this destiny and attempted to run from it. Growing up the son of a Mandalorian Warrior, Darian’s father rebelled against his heritage and disowned his father Sinious Ordo, and set out on his own. Sinious accepted his estranged son’s absence reluctantly until the day he found out that he had a grandson. Wishing to restore his bloodline, Sinious began searching for Darian, chasing his son and his family across the galaxy. Finally Sinious tracked them to Nar Shaddaa.

Growing up on *Planet* (41-31 BBY)

As a kid, growing up in the refuge sector of the Smuggler’s Moon, Darian found himself embracing his unrecognized warrior heritage. Much to the dismay of his father, Darian excelled in combat sports, learning several martial arts as well as combat training with various weapons systems used in the realm of gladiatorial fighting. By fourteen years of age, Darian was already an experienced ring fighter with an impressive record in both hand to hand as well as weapons matches. During a tournament one evening he noticed an older man watching intently at his matches. The man looked a lot like his father but older and far more rugged. He seemed to be watching Darian’s matches with great interest, while wandering off or ignoring the other fights. After the tournament, Darian saw the man again standing across form the locker rooms of the arena. He approached the older man confidently, carrying is first place trophy. “Who are you?” he asked the man, already knowing the answer in his heart. “I am your Grandfather” the man replied smiling. The two spent the rest of the day together talking and learning about each other’s lives. Darian marveled at the stories Sinious told about fighting in open war with other planets and the Mandalorian heritage he so desperately longed to know. As the weeks passed, Darian and Sinious spent every day together, between combat training and learning about his culture, Darian was the happiest he had ever been, finally discovering why he felt such a longing for combat. On his fifteenth birthday Sinious gave Darian a present that eclipsed anything he had ever received before. The box was large and heavy. When he opened it Darian almost leapt out of his chair. The black helmet and dark T-Visor stared up at him like a living thing. It was Sinious’ personal Mandalorian armor. “I am retired (MY SON). I no longer have a need for this, but I see a future where you will.” Sinious said smiling. “Wear it well”. After the small ceremony to dedicate the armor to its new owner, the two men decided it was time for Father and Son to meet again. Darian was surprised to see that his father was not mad at the return of Sinious. The two men embraced as if nothing had separated them except distance. Darian’s father accepted Sinious back to the family on the condition that he would remain retired. The rest of Darian’s fifteenth year was the happiest ever, until one day a stranger came to their home. The stranger was a sight to behold, standing nearly two meters tall, wearing stately robes with a black flowing cloak and neatly trimmed white beard. He identified himself as Tyrannus and said he was searching for Sinious Ordo, the great Mandalorian warrior. Tyrannus was here to recruit Darian’s grandfather as an mercenary and instructor for a grand army he was forming on Kamino. When told that Sinious was retired and no longer training and fighting, Tyrannus became visibly agitated. Darian’s father, who normally did not succumb to the aggressive tendencies of his Mandalorian heritage became enraged by the man’s actions and threatened to shoot him if he did leave immediately. When Tyrannus refused, his father reached for the table where he kept a small holdout blaster for emergency use. Before his father could draw the blaster, Tyrannus reached out his hand, fingers splayed wide. Bolts of lightning shot from his finger tips, pinning Darian’s father to his chair. Both Darian’s mother and his grandfather lunged toward Tyrannus in an attempt to stop the attack. With a slight gesture of his left hand, both were stopped in their tracks by some form of invisible force field. Tyrannus extended his left arm slowly and pushed both of them backward. Darian’s mother, the lighter of the two was lifted off the ground and violently slammed against the wall, the sound of her back breaking was sickening. With reflexes that Darian couldn’t believe the old man still had, Sinious drew and threw a small fixed bladed dagger toward Tyrannus, striking him in the leg. That attack was enough to distract Tyrannus focus, opening him up to further attack. Both Sinious and Darian lunged at the man at the same time. With his own super human reflexes, Tyrannus drew what looked to Darian like a cylinder. He pushed a button, revealing the cylinder to be a light saber. The red blade hummed to life sending stark shadows across the room. He swung the blade toward Sinious, striking the old warrior in the neck, slicing through and decapitating him. Darian struck from the opposite side before Tyrannus could react. He lifted Tyrannus off the floor with a shoulder tackle and slammed him into the wall. Tyrannous slipped free quickly and using his Force powers lifted Darian off the ground. Tyrannus closed his hand as if he was choking something and Darian felt his breath being forced out of his body and his thought closing off. Tyrannus stared at Darian for a long moment before throwing him against the wall. Darian landed on the floor near his mother and began to pass out from the pain. The last thing he saw before he blacked out was Tyrannus laughing as he strode out of the home and disappeared. When Darian awoke several hours later, he was surrounded by death. His life lay in bloody ruins around him and all he could do was look at it. He knew it was a Jedi that had killed his family--only Jedi carried lightsabers and could use powers like those that Tyrannus used. Why he had done this was not clear to Darian, but one thing was. He had a new purpose in life. To hunt and destroy Tyrannus and any other Jedi that he could find. He looked at his grandfather’s body, lying where it had fallen and swore that he would take Sinious’s armor and become a Mandalorian Warrior.

The life of a *Merc* (31 BBY- ? ABY)

Darian left Nar Shaddaa a couple of days after the attack. He took his grandfather’s ship, his armor and his memories and set out to learn about the Mandalorians and how to fight. Unfortunately he found it difficult to find many Mandalorians because they were strung out all over the galaxy. The few he did find however were willing to take him in and teaching him about the Mando’a’, the language, the culture and the combat. By the age of twenty, Darian had become a successful Mandalorian warrior, fighting in many great battles. He finally set out on his own, ready to fulfill the vow he had made. He knew it was going to take every ounce of his strength and abilities to destroy Tyrannous, but the anger in his heart was enough to keep him going. Darian joined the Republic Army as a non-clone officer, taking charge of several special units including two Republic Commando squads in special ops missions across the galaxy. He found his opportunity to strike at the Jedi while serving under Jedi Master Even Piel on (Planet). During the battle, Darian found his blaster rifle trained on Master Piel’s back while the Jedi was fighting against several battle droids at the same time. Knowing his actions would more than likely lead to his execution if caught, the revenge in his heard over rid his common sense. He pulled the trigger, sending several bolts of hard light into the back of Master Piel’s head, killing him. No one knew how Piel had died, taking Darian off the hook. The satisfaction at taking Piel’s life was short lived, knowing that that Jedi was not the one who killed his family. He had no idea where Tyrannus was but knew that if he continued to fight beside the Jedi he surely would find him. Darian continued fighting for the republic, quietly killing as many Jedi as he could in the process. Once Order 66 was unleashed, he took his newly found job seriously, locating and killing over fifty Jedi. Once the Clone Wars were over, Darian left the military and set out to again find Tyrannus, who he did not know had been killed by Anakin Skywalker during the space battle over Coruscant. He continued working as a bounty hunter and mercenary to fund his Jedi hunting operations, he became one of the richest and deadliest individuals in the galaxy, bringing on the attention of Emperor Palatine and Darth Vader. After an invitation and job offer by the Emperor to continue hunting Jedi but under the employment of the Empire, Darian decided that he had been given an opportunity of a lifetime. He knew that Palatine and Vader were Force users, which in Darian’s eyes made them Jedi. He decided that he would work for these two with the underlying plan to kill as many Jedi as he could, and then turn on them, killing them as well. Palatine, not trusting Darian, ordered Vader to bring his appetence Morhandon Dreh into the picture as Darian’s new partner in his hunting adventures. Darian accepted this partnership under protest but eventually found that it was a beneficial arrangement, allowing him to rely on Dreh’s Force abilities to enhance his own deadly skills. Together, Dreh and Ordo hunted down many of the remaining Jedi and killing them, leaving only Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi still in hiding. Unknown to Palatine, Darian had also struck a bargain with Prince Xizor to feed the young leader of the Black Sun information about the Empire and its actions. Both jobs were highly beneficial to Darian, leading to a large sum of money deposited into his accounts. Darian left the employment of the Emperor after the destruction of the first Death Star, but continued working for Xizor until the prince’s death at the hands of Darth Vader.

During his many missions, Darian had an off and on relationship with another Mandalorian warrior he had met while in training. Gabrin Kinoda became more than a partner when Darian brought her in on a mission to assist him and Morhandon Dreh in tracking down Jedi Master Kranus Seel. The two realized their attraction toward each other but neither was willing to act on it, parting company with a promise to see each other again. Little did Darian know that information that he was to gather during his time working for the Empire would lead to the realization that Kinoda was actually the niece of the Emperor and that it was Palatine himself that ordered the death of Gabrin’s mother in an effort to bring the deadly Mandalorian female under his control. He turned this information over to Kinoda and together they formulated a plan to take down the Empire. Little did they know at the time that there were others that were making their own plans. Darian and Gabrin fought together for several months, taking on several bounties as well as small mercenary jobs. Darian proposed several times to Gabrin, who declined his offers, stating that she still had a lot of things to work out before she settled down. They parted company again for several more months until one day he received a message for the two of them to meet. When they did, Gabrin was wearing a scorpion symbol on her right breast plate that matched the one on Darian’s helmet. She had finally made her decision and the two traveled to Mandalore to help rebuild their cultural home world and start their family.
