- Nameless Barfly, right before he was beaten savagely with a serving tray.
"This doesn't end here!"
- Jono Kreed, after sealing the blast doors to face the incoming horde allowing his vod on the other side to escape and complete the mission.
"I didn't so much as joined up that I was sort of drafted into service..."
- Jono Kreed, on becoming a Mandalorian Protector.
The Hidden Valley Incident near Kyrimorut, Mandalore
Near the end of the Clone Wars members of the Manda'galaar Aliit were invited by their vode from Skirata Aliit to Kyrimorut a remote stronghold in the northern hemisphere of the planet Mandalore for training maneuvers. It was during the patrol of the wild lands when the Ver'alor of the Skirata Clan A'den Skirata received a message from Spar the current Mand'alor at the time, that there had been reports of Death Watch activity in the area. Acting as lead scout Kreed used his skills and battery of technology to pinpoint and locate the Death Watch patrol encroaching onto the Skirata Bastion.
Since the incident was on Skirata Clan soil A'den took charge using guerrilla tactics to quickly harass the Death Watch into a canyon. Knowing their end was near the Death Watch patrol tried to electronically pass on the location of the bastion back to their superiors. Luckily Kreed was able to thwart their attempts through use of his jamming equipment. Then combining their strength the two clans were able to successfully defend the territory.
"You're my hero if you pay on time!"
- Jono Kreed, to a client.
- Complete Lunatic, a Mando'a word often used to describe Jono Kreed.
"Out of all the beings in the galaxy the one I most do not wish to fight is the mandolorian known as Kreed...every move he makes is unpredictable as if he is chaos personified..."
- Unknown Jedi, right before Jono Kreed disposes of him with a sanitation plunger.
Equipment and Weapons
"A warrior is more than his armor."
- Mandalorian Proverb.
Kreed also wears a trepennit hide impact vest with a micro energy field projector and two layers of thin armored plates which disperses physical and blast impacts. The power liner also gives him an increased protection from fire, acid, intense heat, and cold. Underneath he wears a tan environmental desert armorweave suit with a reinforced armor mesh. The inner lining of the suit blocked both poisons and corrosives for a period of time and is waterproof as well. On his forearms Kreed wears a brown and black pair of vrblther hide gauntlets.
"The secret to blasters is to know which end of the barrel to be standing at."
- Jono Kreed, on proper blaster usage.
The Shook Custom Hand Cannon is a custom built short barreled carbine rifle designed and used by the mercenary Jono Kreed. The grip and the forestock of the weapon are made from rare laroon wood. Comparatively compact and easy to aim compared to some of the other carbine rifles on the market, the hand cannon is exceptionally useful during close quarter combat, especially from unexpected angles. Named after the carnivorous Shook native to the planet Carratos, the hand cannon's functions are perfect for Kreed's guerrilla fighting tactics. The custom carbine features two settings a stun mode where it discharges electrical bolts capable of stunning most living targets and an impressive lethal mode in which it fires green bolts of charged plasma energy which can easily rip through body armor. Another attribute of the weapon is its considerably solid durasteel plating in which it could be improvised as a melee bludgeoning weapon without fear of damage.
Among Kreed's vast arsenal of weapons he possesses a black bladed beskad which he very rarely employs and has thus used it only on special jobs involving more than one jedi. If anything it's more of a display piece in his collection. But do not let it fool you, he is just as deadly with it as he is with any of his other weapons. Unlike the typical beskad it's not made of Mandalorian iron or durasteel, but cortosis a material which possesses the ability to temporarily deactivate a lightsaber blade it made contact with. The blade itself is sharpened on only one edge and starts off looking like a simple farming or growth clearing tool, but near the end it forms into a wicked axe like blade. At first glance one could see this was no mere weapon of elegance and grace but a cold brutal tool for slaughter. The weapon is said to date back to the time of the Old Republic.
