Looking awesome! Love the collar piece! I also like the back plate design. I need to do something else with mine, and it may end up looking similar to that.  Keep up the great work!

Like everyone else, I'll chime in with the love for the collar plate.

I would have shaped the plates before painting, though. The heat could cause bubbling, or other unwanted effects. Maybe not, but I'm just extra cautious about things like that since I had to repaint some of my v.2 armor, only to find that they no longer made the particular shade of blue I had been using.

I haven't updated this in the longest time, I've been so caught up with school. I've made a small amount of progress on my armour which was my changing of the design a bit and painting the design on; all nice and red. I will Possibly have some pictures of the paint job up later today once I get home from school, but I really hope to get started again since work hasn't been quite as heavy. So much for having it done by halloween haha oh well

This is the one picture of the painted on design. I only have to fix the blast mark up in the top corner and then hopefully my mom and I will be moving on the making the vest. The other parts of armour will be slowly painted and fixed as I decide what I think looks best.

Looking great! I love the tote idea, I'm doing it myself. I wish I'd seen this post before I started my collar though, like everyone else, I think it's pretty nifty.

What great advice! I started my helmet just under a year ago so that I could enter it in the fair. I obviously needed to plan more. I had everything going nice until the night before when I was up till 6:00 in the morning painting it. I needed masking tape and better paint. the helmet no longer fits sice I had a growths burt, so it's now a mantle piece.

as everyone keeps saying, that collar piece is a one of a kind! It's one of the most creative collar pieces that I've seen yet! Keep it up and trial and error are what make us prop makers tick! So good on ya for trying some thing different. This is why I love costumes. so much creativity!
