Soft Parts Planning

(1/2) > >>

Foxx:
So I have already posted part of my armor planning in the female body armor area, but I have some kind of different ideas for my soft parts. I'm still confused about what ALL we need, but I'm making my list. So I saw some opposition to spandex/really tight body suits in another thread and that kind of bummed me out. My character is going to wear medium/heavy armor with a very boxy chest piece like below (disregard all the other TOR related parts, I'm just kind of looking at her body shape etc)

So what I want to do:
-Black or grey body suit (tight preferably)
-Black, red or grey (opposite from whatever I do above) chaps to imitate that second layer of armor under the leg plates
-a tighter vest underneath this

I cosplay black widow and I was kind of thinking about just using that body suit if that was acceptable, mostly because it has a zipper in the front that could be hidden that would make peeing less of an adventure. I am very petite and in shape, so my concern isn't about if it will be flattering more if it would be considered acceptable for the club.

Another reason I'm opting for this is because its going to be EXTREMELY frustrating for me to find a flight suit that will even be close to fitting me, and I would rather not spend a huge amount of time and effort changing the size of an expensive flight suit if I can easily find something more made for people my size.

ONE last option are these 'flight suits' I found. Is there anything anyone knows of that is cheaper than this? Its a little more than I'm willing to spend.

What you need for the CRLS are:
Armor/flak vest
Flight suit

As for the era, I am not entirely sure on what era that kit is under, but those two are required for all eras.

As long as the zipper is hidden by your vest you will be fine. As for cheaper flight suits, I got mine for $20 at an army surplus store, it didn't take too much to alter it. McCoy is selling some in the trading station right now, you may want to give him a PM.

As for the chap idea, it will most likely be extremely hot; you may have better luck replacing that part of your flight suit with the "chaps". This will help eliminate some extra layers, and attachment methods as well. It will also work in your favor as you are gearing up, plus you will never have to worry about them falling off, or them shifting during a troop.

I hope I explained the chap idea, if not let me know and I will get out my crayons and draw some pics... :P

You can just toss that idea about a flight suit right out of your mind now XD

You'll never find one that will fit you right, unless you want to buy one and get it expensive tailored. The best route is to find a black turtle neck and pants of the same material. When it comes to making your suit, ner'vod once told me "Its not what it is, its what it appears to be."
Doing so also solves any future bathroom issues you might run into.

Like Jasher said, you need a flak jacket. If Shae is the look your going for, you will want to make the jacket out of a dark gray material. There are tons of helpful tutorials about how to make them yourself, and if its something your interested in, I can scrounge them up for you XD

Hmm I am not entirely sure that turtle necks are okay to use, although if you want to go the two piece way you definitely can. I contacted Falin, just to be sure.

Re-enforced turtle necks are fine. For mine, I got a turtle neck, then put a lil armor and spinning inside it so that it holds up.
