Western-Themed Mando WIP

(1/9) > >>

Rolus Ka:
Hey, folks.

So here's a thread recording the design and creation of my western-themed armor. Its influences include Clint Eastwood's "Man with No Name", Jonah Hex, and Southwestern Indian iconography.

Here's a basic drawing (I'm not the greatest artist ever, has Rolus's horribly deformed thumbs may attest). I left soft tracings of what's underneath the poncho to give everyone an idea of what it looks like. The design on the plating is based on Eastwood's Poncho from the "Dollar Trilogy".

I'll color it later for show, but I already have the paints in mind (and sitting to my side). If only I could share my mind's eye. But not in a creepy way.

Here are my plates and vest thus far. All I'm missing are the diamond (because my cats thought it would be a suitable toy for "hide-and-seek", the knee caps, and the plates for my boots. I'm just about to sand and paint them - probably tomorrow.

I'll return with more details as they emerge. Let me know what you think!

Cyre Katsew:
This could be interesting.

Byloc Phosmont:
I am a big fan of Clint Eastwood's outfit at the end of the good the bad and the ugly. I think that when western mando's are done right, they look amazing. I'll be watching this with interest!

Niabi:
hmmmm Interesting ;) you have my attention Please continue.....

One thing..... Tape the Plates to you so we can check for sizing ;D

Sarsk:
Yup. Tape them up. I'm guessing the paint scheme will kind of match the poncho thing?
