First kit: swtor WIP

Hey everybody! So I am totally new to all of this...and I mean everything that is making armor! A friend of mine got me interested in making my own kit of Mando Gear, and told me to check out this site. I was totally impressed with everyone's work, and I knew if I needed help, this was the place to find it! As I explain on the intro page, I am a TOR player, and I LOVE my bounty hunter's armor...I mean like I was obsessed with getting the best looking gear whenever I could! Anyways...in real life...I'm exactly the same...I want the best looking gear I can get!

I decided to start some of my concepts based on my character herself...and so I wanted to post pictures up for any opinions that you more experienced people could recommend. I've also been looking around at different sites trying to find something to help me gather the materials I need...but so far havent found anything that isnt for the experienced armor makers...so any help would soooo be appreciated.

Anyways...enough blah....more pics!!!!

I'm aiming to make these blasters too...they are known as my "Lucky pistolas"

Anyways...please throw out any thoughts on how to make this armor mine!!! Thanks guys  :)

Glad to see more females joining the ranks! I have seen some guys manage to make that style of helmet, but i haven't the foggiest idea if it's acceptable. Hopefully it will be soon though :)

Anyhoo, this looks like a fantastic idea since your character is distinctly yours right from the get go. Have you drawn out any other plans yet like for soft parts? soft parts=flight suit, vest, etc. I would highly suggest you take some measurements so you're not having to do too much alterations to stuff once it's made. I would also direct you to the female armor boards so you can see how some other ladies have done their kits :)

I like the idea. Iv seen other members make kits form Star Wars Galaxies. This is right along that line.

As far as supplies you could do just about anything. Take a good read through the CLR's for the crusader armor. it tells you everything you could possibly need to know about what you need to get. Like the things Mav said like flight suit, vest that sort of thing.  Also take a look at the Easy Cheap method. Your plate style is different but you can probably divide it up and glue the parts together.

Thanks for the recommends guys! I've been looking at black unitard style suits and possibly getting a premade vest since I have no sewing talent in any part of me. I have been working on a drawing of the pieces I would want....I'll post it as soon as I'm finished!

as far as mercs approved costumes go, this will not qualify because it is not Mandalorian armor, it is bounty hunter armor. others have attempted to make the mandolorian armor from TOR, but last i read, there were no specific CRLs for that either, so it would be on a case by case basis under heavy scrutiny from the approval team. not that what you want to do cant be done well, it just isnt withing requirements for this club.

for an example of the Mando armor, here is Lolow's WIP. no idea how far it has come, it looks like he has bee focusing on his approvable kit recently.
