Made some more progress, just need to blackwash these plates and I think I'll be happy with them, considering it's my first time even trying this. Helmet's all sanded down, going to bondo and do all that fun stuff this weekend.


I think I need to trim down the sides a bit though I might save that until after I finish the helmet. Also I think for now I'm going to make handwraps instead of gauntlets, hopefully I'll have some pictures of that too soon.

Thanks guys! Here's everything I have right now - helmet's in the garage still.


The fur on the boot was just an idea, I'm thinking of using it in place of boot armor (if that's allowed?) to cover up the laces and logo at the back. Theoretically it would also hold together the other places I'll have fur (belt, knees, arms) so I'm hoping it won't look too out of place.
These are my knees, are they passable?


Will hopefully have some helmet progress later today.

Be careful of getting too Gimmicky with the Fur that you use ner'vod ....

I'm not sure of the Type of FUR your using .... but .....
You Don't want to look like you Slaughtered a few Stuffed animals to get the Fur .
Or that your Wearing Bunny Slippers .... 

You want to look like you HAD either or both of these things in mind . ( as Being seen by the public )

1) Clothing or Articles of Clothing Made from pelt or Hide : ..... (In universe favorably) No Guernsey Cow )

Belts , pouches , Slings , Quivers , Holsters , Boot straps ..... ie Softs .... ( including Wearable clothing )

2)  Trophies :  Braids (made from the hair) , Leggings (made from pelt)   , Teeth , Tusks , Horns , Claws , Scales , tails .... etc .


Now if you put a Few Claws protruding from the Knees you may have a Winner . ( Then they would look like paws ) IMO

Just My take with out getting to see it on you ...

I'm hoping to go more for the clothing made from pelts, like with the handwraps - this is the basic idea I had for them.


I'll think about adding claws on the knees, then decide after I get the rest of the areas with fur done.

Started painting a small blaster I put together last night, ran out of base paint, then continued today.


And my helmet is at the stage ready to get bondo'd, inside is reinforced and a visor should be here any day now.

UPDATE:
Did the bondo last night and primed it, turned out pretty well I think.


Started painting today too.


Just finished putting on the red paint, and upon checking my mail my visor got here. Hopefully the helmet will be totally done by the weekend.

Thanks! I discovered I really like weathering, hoping that's a good sign lol.
Finished the helmet last night, dirtied it and my plates up with some charcoal, also put in the new visor. All that's left is to put a bit of padding in.


Finished up the blaster too.


Trimmed the plates, they fit much better now. Didn't have time to tape it all on tonight but I might start trying to position velcro tomorrow.


For the arms I've decided to do a layer of fur with leather bracers over it. The bracers are supposed to get here Monday, when those get in I'll have a better idea of how everything should look. I was working on the boot covers last night and with any luck that will be done before the weekend's over.

Managed to tape up my plates as a test fit last night...need to adjust quite a bit but it's getting there (I think).

this is what im seeing: all the plates need to move Up a fair bit. collar plate needs to be covering your collar bone

Personally I think your blaster needs more work to hide the coke bottle a flash suppressor and a fin or too or greb would do it

Yeah, that was partially caused by using tape. Started using velcro tonight to attach them.


I'll stop by Home Depot on the way home from work tomorrow, see if I can find anything to throw on it. Thanks!
