Eternal armory sent me some great gaunts in the mail.

nice and cleaned up, they only came with a minimum of flash.  Super sturdy and though they are basic, they have a great base for modding!  A do-it-yourselfers dream!  Thanks Eternal Armory!

lots of work put in

Drilled holes for access with my dremel.  the rear portion was cut open so i could put a data panel with some alpha-numeric keys into it with a backing piece of plastic provided by EA with the kit.

These are the greeblies i'll be using.  the short stocky pieces are going to be placed in the rear holes where the power feed cables will go.  the longer chrome pieces are going to be the dart barrels protruding from the front of one of my left gaunt.

this is the tubing I'll be using for power feeds.

Greeblies and dart shooters installed.  For anyone curious as to my components, the dart throwers are BNC compression connectors from the electrical section in Lowes, the tube connections are flare nuts found in the plumbing section of Lowes.  Happy hunting my fellow mercs!

well, they are finished!

As you might notice or remember my boast, I said I would commit the ultimate irony and turn a Mcdonalds toy depicting a spinning top with a jedi lightsaber launcher.  The "dial" on the back of the gauntlet?  That's the spinning top!

And on the side of this gauntlet, you can see I've taken the dikut Jedi's lightsaber and turned it into a platform for a grapnel launcher!  The alpha-numeric pad is keys from my defunct laptop painted tan with hand-painted aurebesh characters and then distressed to appear as though they've had alot of wear.

I'm going to be using broadhead arrow heads for the actual grapnel hooks, mounting them into the front of the "lightsaber".  DO NOT WORRY I know the arrow heads are essentially razors!!!  I will be grinding them down and taking off their points.  I am doing this because I simply lack the precision to attain a suitable design for the grapnels and the way I optimally want them to appear.

Needless to say, I am ecstatic with how these look, and I'm really proud of my work.  Thanks Eternal Armoury for an awesome product!!

A good safe solution to the hook would be after smoothing them, going over them with an epoxy putty to smooth it out even more. Just in case.

I dont like to speak out of my sheb XD but im glad your thinking of my advice, as I know allot of people bring their children to conventions and most of them are perfect Gaunt to the Face height XD

Well, quick final update on the gaunts.  Got the broadhead arrows today...didn't need much grinding down seeing how they were duller than televised coverage of a senate sub-commitee debating who shot first; Greedo or Han.  Thanks China!  Bang up job, lol.  BTW, they look rad mounted to the gaunt
