Mission Objective: To promote the May the 4th Be With You event at Chapters being held in major cities across Canada.
Invasion Report: Each year DK Canada organizes a Star Wars themed initiative for Canada on May the 4th to promote literacy ( Star Wars books are the perfect way to get reluctant kids to read ). This year we are partnering with Indigo and Chapters book stores across Canada to promote literacy and Star Wars. For each DK Star Wars title sold on the weekend of May the 4th, DK will be making a donation to Indigo’s For the Love of Reading Program.
Taking the store by storm, three Mandalorians, two Republic Commandos and a Sith warrior invaded the Chapters location. Grabbing the attention of all who entered, the clan entertained and awed the public. In participation with the store, prizes were drawn by our very own Gur Aryeh.
Fans both young and old enjoyed the Star Wars presence, quite often taking pictures and talking to the group about the work being done.
The joint 501st/Mercs event was an excellent opportunity, and the clan hopes to return again next year.
