This project took four days from start to finish. I love the look of the Assassin helm but had been missing the RF, so I made one for the Assassin. I know some of you will think the RF looks tall, just keep in mind that the ear plates slope way back on the helm, so by the time you get the RF in front of the eye and then stand it upright, it will look taller.
Here are my WIP photos
I used a bi pod from an airsoft gun

I made a paper template in the shape of the upper ear plate

I then cut it out of aircraft aluminum approx 1/8 thick

This was a very scary moment.. If it didn't work out, I just messed up my helm

More of the ear plate cut away

As I was sanding the ear cap off the helm was getting thin and needed to be thickened up from the inside

I also filled in the small groove on the outer ear plate too

I used the viewer from a Rubies helm

Cut out a space for a lens and put a spacer in it to hold lens into place

Lens in

This is the glue I used

Glued the viewer to the stalk. After glue drys it will be sanded smooth and painted

The aluminum plate was glued to the helm

I then made an out line of where the RF stalk sets in the upright position

I then made a wall out of AC tape and filled with the glue / resin

After sanded to match the helms ear plate it was masked off for paint. Base coat black then a top coat of OD green

With the paint dry it was time to take off the tape and scuff it to match again

RF installed and DONE!
