I forget the exact spec, but it's those wee little watch batteries. I saw it at Walmart for $2 and couldn't resist it, though I had to paint the bright green handle. Only colors were green and red; I'd have rather found yellow (which is technically canon, comic book wise at least) or white, but meh, you gotta work with whatcha have.

Minor update to the fusion cutter:


I've been toying with ideas for an end cap, something to make it less bland. This thingy thing struck me as sort of a nifty looking 'refill' nozzle. I've also made more progress with the reliacharger, but it's too awkwardly placed for clamps, so all the stuff is taped down until the glue dries. Didn't think it was worth taking a picture of.

More work to be done, mostly smoothing stuff out. I'm thinking maybe a little bondo to close up some seams, but we'll see.

This is literally just about ten or twenty feet of black duct tape, taken off the roll and re-wrapped around a piece of pvc pipe. It fits right into the pouch, in the back pocket, and will certainly come in handy. Every con I've ever gone to, at least one person needed duct tape for some quick fix or another.

That is a great idea, vod.  I keep a repair kit with me in every costume I do (even my RFT).  No telling when some white electrical tape can safe the life of a TK or TC.  Duct tape is the same way.

I picked it up at Lowes for something like $10-15, can't remember exactly. For right now, it's just about perfect to hold the tools I have. If I make any more, I'll have to get another pouch.

Thanks . I hope to get the calibrator/recharger painted up tomorrow, to give me a better idea of where I need to fill in. The last couple days have been a little busy, not to mention annoyingly hot.

Holy necropost Batman  . . I forgot this thread even existed, but thanks Skarm . This armor has since been 'retired' and replaced almost completely, but the plates are still floating around the house. One of these days I'll actually get around to making the wall mount I intended for them.
