Kote Gra'tua Shock Infantry WIP
« on: Apr 12, 2012, 11:34 PM »
So I'm building my kit and I decided to consolidate my WIP to one thread.  So without further ado here we go...

Front of my Bucket

Back of my Bucket

Right Shoulder Guard

Right Gauntlet

Left Gauntlet (Flamethrower barrel cut off in the pic but it's there)

Hand Plates

Neckseal with Plates

Belt

As always tips and comments are appreciated.  Thanks.

So I put the visor and padding in my bucket and gave it the final clear coat.  The only thing she needs is the voice amp and she'll be completely done, but she's done enough for now.

I had ordered a visor from Bikerchick but it wasn't dark enough and the cling film kept peeling even after I reapplied with a mild soap and water solution so...  I went to Lowe's spent $25 and got some mirrored window film, cut out two equal sections and hot glued them to the inside of the bucket.  Now I have a mirrored visor that I can see out of, but that no one can see in to.

Here's one of my two DL-44's

Just did a simple repaint of the Star Tours DL-44.  A lot of people like to lengthen the barrel and grips, but I found that it's the same over all length of my Glock 22 .40 duty weapon and the grip fits my hand just fine.

It does.  It's got foam padding sewn into it.  If you want the name of the maker send me a PM and I'll get you her info.

So, Kote, do you have any updates on your armor so far?

Did several layers of silver and clear coats yesterday and I'm doing the weathering and black today.  Sometime later I'll post pics of the soft parts that are all completed.

The idea came to me while I was playing TOR.  My toon has twin heavy blasters so I said I'm gonna have twin heavies.  Plus Kel you and I are brilliant.  Backstory for my Merc is that he's an urban warfare specialist.  His load is going to be 2 DL's and a fortified verp shorty for CQB since most urban battles happen at under 100 meters.

Always good to have a backup (the twin DL's) as the verps are known to be "fragile" pieces of weaponry.

Is that all ? My armour took two cans of primer, three silver, one black.  ;)

oh I've gone through 2 silver, 2 black and 1 clear so far.  Anyway here's the first shot of my armor with the first coat of black, minus the back plate.
