Well I finally jumped in and got myself a bucket. I was eyeing the OSDW helmet for about 2 months and just when I was about to pull the trigger, Hondo pulled the mold
. But the stars aligned and Teilyr Farsel was selling one, so I jumped on it.
Got it in the mail and instantly got to work.
Thats right out of the box. Looked amazing but some love was needed. So I got out the bondo.
Thats the second coat of Bondo to even out the seam on top, along with a few other little areas the first coat and sanding missed.
All sanded down and even. No more dip in the top of the helmet and pretty even.
3 Coats of primer on there. First coat showed some areas I needed to sand a bit more, and the other 2 were to give the paint a nice layer to adhere to.
I was going to work on it a bit more, but it started to rain and the humidity would have made the paint take forever to dry since I am working in my garage and the propane heater decided it wants to be cranky and not work today. If the weather holds up tomorrow, I am going to get the coats of chrome on there, then go for the black. After that I get crazy with painters tape, and then I need to find a green that is between Neon, and Hunter.
