First Bucket WIP! (Almost there!)

Thanks Vode!    I just deconstructed the innards of a LaCrosse helmet one of my buddies "donated" to the cause and I am trying to use the padding for the inside.  Its working pretty good around the ears, front, and rear, but still need something for the top of the crown that isn't too thick... memory foam maybe?  There is also a chin strap I may use, but not sold on that part yet.  Still experimenting....

I went to walmart and got a twin sized "convoluted mattress cover" just cut out the shape i needed and hot glued it in.

Spent a little more time on my helmet... added some padding inside, and painted it black to make it look more "finished"



Then I got to work on the outside... took the suggestions and went at it with a screwdriver and sandpaper to scratch it up a bit, then used a light wash of acrylic paint to give a bit of grime.  I think it's looking pretty good!   







I still need to replace the visor, but aside from that I think I think my bucket is just about ready.

I really dig that "god aweful chartruse green". I would never have seen that can sitting on a shelf at the store and thought about painting anything with it. It looks nice on a bucket though, so it may look good on my lawn furniture I need to paint. Hmm...
Anyway, nice bucket vod.
