Vest and other parts Dana (vest 95% ready)

Dana Black:
It might look like I have not been working, but I have indeed been very busy.
After losing my job in December, I have been taking up a new hobby: sewing. So I started taking lessons and my teacher accepted me as her apprentice (hmmmm) to learn how to fix and alter garments.
I have been busy drawing my bodyblock (part of the exam) and figured it would be perfect to make a vest for that. First I made a "test-vest" to familiarize myself with the material (fake leather) and experiment.
Now I am putting the real vest together. I want to close the sides with lacing.

Test-vest:

Looking good Vod ;D you have some skills there ;)

Dana Black:
Thanks! Thankfully blood, sweat and taers don't show on black  :P

My vest is coming together nicely. I also started working on my kama. Fortunately, I just had enough pleather left! The pincer shows up till where the split will be. They lining will come on the inside and a kind of tunnel will go on the top, so I can put a small belt or string through.

Excellent work ;) .

Dana Black:
I am almost done with my vest. After I attach the velcro, I can sew it shut at the bottom.
All my kama needs is to be attached at the bottom. Then the pleather parts are done.
Still to do: cape-ish, loincloth-ish... Girthbelt will be another month, can't buy my size here in the Netherlands.
I do have a belt with my original WWII pouches. Oh, and I have gloves.
Soon I will post a complete picture with what I have so far.
