Looking at the photos of your revamped bucket design. That looks much better :) I was wondering though...design wise, would be more streamlined to just continue the antennae raised bits in a gentle descending curve backward long the top of the helm? Might look more like a bike helmet but was just a thought so you didn't have it looking like two boxes atop your helmet :P

OOH! Those antennae bits might be a good place to install ventilation imho. Heat does rise and since the flat parts face forward, you'd get decent air flow when you walk. Just a sudden thought... Also, we could say that it was designed that way so the antennae could "hear" and not be muffled. Who knows exactly what Rodian antennae do...

"Oh great! A Rodian Mando! I guess I can live with that (with a little animosity) as long as she severs her ties with her Rodian family (If I have not killed them yet) and does not hinder my hunt of my 'life enemy.'"

Had to say that...LOL...great work.

I agree with the sloping back of the antennae boxes and maybe rounding out the sides too. You have all of these wonderful curves everywhere, then the sharp cornering just throw it all off.
My family calls me "T," my friends call me "Shun-Di," you can call me "Oh no! It's you!!."

The revised helm looks great and besides, it doesn't have to perfectly match as you will not be wearing the rodian mask underneath anyway, it just has to be close, so you are good. Glass her up and let's see it!

I feel so bad just now finding this thread! This looks sick and IMO completely and utterly echos what Mandalore had in mind when he started this club. This is a custom Mandalorian. Great job.

As promised this it back up and running, although it will probably move along at a slow pace.

Sat down this morning and finished off the RE-modified helmet base. No, I never got to the glassing stage before and no, I can't leave anything alone. But, I think I'm happy now. ;)

-So I swapped out the ear caps, hopefully they aren't too recognizable... The other's were just too small in my opinion.
-I also added vent-ish things to the extension sections on the dome. Since a Rodian's antenna detect vibrations, I wanted that extra ability to be utilization while wearing the helmet, or for it to come across that way at least. :P

Anyway, here's the new base.

And a comparison between the old and new.

What say you, is it ready to get glassed?
