Mandalorian Mercs Codex updates, and Member Handbook news.

(1/4) > >>

Mandalore the Uniter:

Over the last 3 years, the Command Council has made less than a hand-full of minor changes to our official Codex or governing document.  Last year we felt it was time for some major updates to happen, since Mercs has grown so large.  In doing so, we removed some old items, added some new ones, but left much of what was already there alone.  I encourage you to read up on the updated Codex, and make sure you are familiar with it.

Secondly, we have released the first version of our Member Handbook (Mercenary Manual) for official and potential members of Mercs.  The Mercenary Manual is provided as a tool for both official and potential members.  Hand them out at your Clan/Squad meetings, or put them out at your local convention booth.  Everything you need to know about Mercs, what's expected of you in Mercs, and what you can get out of Mercs is in the Mercenary Manual.  We're also releasing the Clan/Squad Officer Handbook for anyone to download and read.

QUESTIONS:

Codex:

1) If a current members name is not an in-universe name, will they be required to select a new name?

2) What constitutes an "active" forum account?

Clan Officer Handbook:

1) Kibiri is still listed as the PR XO (just a heads up)

Merc Manual:

1) In the official membership expectations, it states " To always keep your Mandalorian Armor compliant with the club’s Costume Requirement Lis" Is this to suggest that there is no longer a 'granfather clause' of any kind and every official member's costume should be up to CRL standards?

Solid work on these, very thorough.

Mandalore the Uniter:
1. Most members on application do select a name that fits within the Star Wars universe.  I don't think we've ever had to reject someone because of character name.  Forum name doesn't really mean anything.

2. Active forum account means one that isn't permanently banned or marked for deletion.

3. No.  What it means is "first rule of fight club is that you don't talk about fight club".  So it's not something we're going to tell people about, and we're going to enforce the standards, but there will always have to be a *cushion* for people with old kits to get into today's standards. At some point in the very near future, the Grandfather Clause will be put to bed.

Thanks for the heads up on the old info.  I'll get that fixed!

Lucas McCoy:
Anytime.

Gotcha, that answers my question right there.

When is that, a year with no log in?

If I'm correct, it just means you have an account that isn't in violation of the forum rules. You don't necessarily have to use it (it's preferred if you do though!), but as long as the account is active and not in violation of any rules or such, it should be good. Tom may have to correct me, but I think that's pretty much right.
