trying to find the translation for my name in mando'a: roughly translated it would be "he who/whom no longer exists" theres a history behind this choice (very long story, better heard while drinking) can anyone help me out with a translation?

Oh and Btw here are some pics of my Buy'ce:

this is just pepakura and resin, bondo will be tackled tomorrow since SW:ToR is on maintenance i may get up and do it tonight since i have horrible insomnia. but  i have decided on going with early crusader as my final answer, for my first kit, and will be posting pics as i get pieces done if anyone knows of any other reference pics than the only one i have been able to find (same pic as on seugtai's thread) please post them or send me a pm. looking forward to becoming a mandalorian

Is that psberetta's Pep File? It turn out great. Glad to see your still plugging away. ;)
On the other reference pics, there is a thread stickied at the top of the Crusader board for Early Era. Personally, I think you could take several key parts from your original inspiration and use them with an Early Era, so if you really liked that first pic, I say go with it. That's the great thing with this era, it's very customizable.

Sorry just saw this.

I know EVA foam isn't an approved material and I believe all foam falls under that category even if it's been hardened with fiberglass. I would go a different route.

Foam is fine for a weapon or accessories; it just isn't approved for armor.

A blade-master type build is great, but keep in mind that simplicity is your friend. An actual swordsman had little more than a sword, a knife and a backup weapon such as a small mace or warhammer. Touching on your first inspiration picture you could have to two curved short swords and the long rapier-looking sword, but I wouldn't add anything beyond that except maybe a single knife. You could mount it on your shin armor, back of your gauntlet/vambrace, on the chest plate or shoulder plate or something.

As to Seugtai's suggestion, Crusader is the best way to get close to your original inspiration, though if you go Early, you'll need to make the armor look more like bone or rough hammered metal, whereas with Late Era you can have it look pretty close to how it looks in the pic. If you decide to add some inspiration from it to your PEP helmet, I suggest leaving off the foot-long ear-wing-thingies (technical term, don'tcha know), but the little horns and the dreadlocks would be a cool addition. It should be easy enough for you to paint this helmet up to look metal rather than bone and match the colors of the first picture. Good luck!

Ben: What do we do now? Lob a baradium missile at it?
Luke: Do we have a baradium missile?
Ben: Sorry, Uncle Han said it was always a good idea to have one--
Luke: Your uncle isn't a jedi. I wish you'd remember that.

Sorry, my bad. I'm not up on all the Mando'a terms, I didn't realize he was talking about a saber. Should have just looked the word up. LOL

Heheh, fair enough :P. Once upon a time I had a post up somewhere 'round here with just the commonly used mando words and their translations, but it probably died the death of forgotten threads at some point. For weapons, basically beskad (saber), bes'bev (stabbity flute), bevi'ragiir (hunting spear), besuliik (basilisk war droid, later a mando-verpine starfighter), and tra'kad (space tank/fighter).

well more work done on my headpiece, 6 hours of sanding and bondo, now coated with rondo for strength, after that is dried/set ill hit it with a 400grit sanding and it will be time for details (yay sculpting).

i havent found a suitable undersuit, and im starting to get a little put off by the search.
in other news im ready to start on my gauntlets, shins, chest and back pieces today (more sculpting) as well as the blades for my Beskad and fighting knives. thanks to psberetta for taking the time to pep an excellent helmet, hopefully i dont screw it up too bad. i also found pep files for shins and gaunts that look more like bone so im printing those up right now and will be cursing myself for cutting out all those pages by the end of the day. anyway just a small update right now and a bigger one later after i get some stuff pepped and resined.
wish me luck

Nice progress :D  I know a lot of people use military surplus flight suits for their base undersuits, and ViciousVestments [a member here] makes custom flightsuits as well.  You may want to hit him up with what you are looking for and see what her can put together for you.

Depending on the colors you're looking for, just hit Walmart or a thrift store and grab a cheap pair of dress or work-type pants and a shirt in a matching color. One of my 'flight suits' is a pair of black Dickies and a black button-down shirt that I modified (altered the collar and added a velcro throat-cover) and my other flight suit is a pair of brown slacks and a brown long-sleeved t-shirt-type shirt. They're comfy, fit better and are easier to get in and out of quickly than any actual flight suit or coveralls that I've ever worn.

fast update going to army/navy today after wife gets home to find a flightsuit hopefully, decided to go with only one crushgaunt for now as time wont permit both to be made as i just took on 4 paid commissions for space marine costumes, not to mention my other 2 costumes for A-kon this year in dallas, and mma training. anyway just wanted you guys know i was still plugging away at this one but taking my time and doing it as right as i understand it to be expect gaunt pics hopefully this weekend and wish me luck on the flightsuit

so today i walk in the door to find this laying on the floor (minus the patterns), apparently my wife was listening to me talk to my friend about how hard it is to find sintra in this god forsaken town, and scoured the yellow pages to find it. her words were, and i quote "youre a nerd, but its ok, i love you anyway" so after changing into my workshop clothes, i started working on my patterns, using ohld varts templates i got the chest abs and shoulders drawn on and went from this

to this

now to figure out how to shape the pieces and put them together, and get more sintra for the backplate and lower pieces so i can get them cut out, well wish me luck the heat gun is calling my name, and its time to try my first piece
