I just took some pics of me with the whole shooting match on.  I've done a lot of changes since my last post.  I'm pretty happy with all of it.

I like what you have here. I'm not big on how 'clean' it is, but that's just personal preference. Good job, vod! :)

Thanks! :)  Yeah, it's slowly getting some real battle damage from getting tossed around and scuffed, but I'm one of those weird guys that likes my armor clean looking, lol.  I like to think of it as my character is very protective of his armor and reapplies paint often.  Maybe I'll add some holes or dents later but still keep them clean painted.  I've actually been wondering how sintra would react to a .357 round.  I'll have to test it on some scrap sintra.  Might work for some very realistic battle damage :D

Haha judging from previous experience with damage happening, I would expect Sintra would just shatter.

Well these are my opinions on your upgraded armor however make sure you get the opinions of some the other Official members before you start changing your kit on my account.

1. I'm 100% sure those knees won't work for a few reasons. A. Stock Home Depot knee pads aren't allowable per CRLs B. the exposed straps are not the same color as you flightsuit and C. Staples? That seem like it could be uncomfortable but I don't know if it's not allowed.

2. Your flightsuit is bunching up at your wrists. I think you should try and pull the excess up under you gauntlets or cut it off.

3. I understand you wan't to have a clean kit but you should at least blackwash it to give it a little more of a lived in feel.

Other than those things I like what you've done with the upgrades. The gaunts and the axes add to the concept really well.
Again get another opinion before you scrap everything on my account.

Keep it up!

Thanks for the input, buddy. :)

I'm going to get official opinions for sure, but just to comment on a couple of things:

1. Those aren't Home Depot knees they are a pretty generic brand of knee pad and I have modified them from the original look.  I cut off the logo, removed padding, sanded down some detail, etc.  There is also nothing in the CRL's that says you cannot have "Home Depot" knees. They need to look "in-universe" and be of high quality.  These look in-universe to me, but, again, I'll check with the approval team and my local guys.
The straps are a little different color but there is no elastic showing which should be fine.  They also match my girth belt/sash.  Don't know of anything in the CRL's that they have to match if they are not elastic.  Cloth is considered "in-universe" so there shouldn't be any problems. Going to get official input though, of course. :)
The staples are well secured and do not lay directly on my flight suit.  I had planned to attach these by sewing it later but I rather liked the rough look of the staples so I kept it.  I also checked the CRL's, no reference to staples being an unacceptable attachment method. :)

2. If I move the flightsuit back at all it won't cover the edge of my gloves.  Not sure there is much I can do there.  I am looking at a different way of mounting the gauntlets though which may allow for more movement with the flight suit.

3. The CRL's suggest armor weathering but it is not a requirement.  They also suggest trench coats, ponchos, and pauldrons, but not everyone has those either.  Like I said, I like to think that Beviin respects his armor a great deal and repaints it after battles.  There are some scuffs but I like to keep it pretty clean for the most part.  The soft parts with the girth belt and knee straps are frayed a bit and seem more worn.

Again, I greatly appreciate the input.  Not trying to sound offended or defensive at all here.  This kind of stuff makes me go back and double check everything and triple check the CRL's, so it's all very good stuff and I really do appreciate it a lot!

I LOVE that helmet look.  Cannot get enough of the tapered down edges on the T-Visor.  I hate AdamScottFM is not making that model anymore but I'm excited to see what his 2.0 version is going to be. :)

Overall, things look pretty good. I do have a couple of suggestions though...

1. On the knee's, in addition to looking in universe, any real world or sports armor has to be so modified as to not be recognizable for it's original form and function. Just looking at these, I cans till see them clearly as carpentars knee's. They definatly need more modding. I wish I could be more specific than that but, it's hard to quanitfy. Ghost from Talon Clan has a pretty good example of carpenter knee mods.

2. As for the issue with the cuffs, gloves and gaunts. I would recommend trying to adjust that bunching at the wrist. Either tuck the flightsuit into the gloves or lower the gaunts to cover that area.

3. The strapping on the knee's looks to be grey? Maybe not the same exact shade but close enough it's not a problem.

Yeah the straps are a different shade of olive than the flight suit but it's pretty close.  It matches my girth belt as they were made from the same material.

On the knees I think I'm just going to buy a pair of Boba knees.  I've spent about $50 trying to get some knees that will work and I've been shot down each time for one reason or another, never with any specific advice on what to do in order to get something that will work (no reflection on you at all Falin, I appreciate your advice as it has always been helpful).  I'm really quite sick of dealing with this one armor piece so rather than spend another $50+ trying to mod something I'm just going to buy some Boba knees.  It's not really what I want, but at least I know there's nothing about it that won't pass.

I would say though, that the CRL's regarding knees should be updated to be very specific about what looks "in-universe" and what does not and what mods are acceptable on carpenter and sports knees.  Might save people a lot of time, money, and frustration.

The main thing is and always has been with real world armor/pads, the end result has to look dynamically different so the average person wont see them and recognize them as the set they used on Sunday. It's really tough with them. Alot of folks buy them mostly for the convenient strapping and padding and then mount some other plastic parts or cap and greeblies over them.
