Shabuir is here - pics inside
« on: Oct 18, 2011, 11:30 PM »
So I've been working on my Mando for a while, and I think it's pretty close to being ready for approval.   There are some modifications needed though, like the velcro on my vest needs to be readjusted and my loin cloth might not be good enough.  Also, lol I think I need to stick the thighs on a little higher next time :).   I do want to give a shout out to Jaiden Turr'n Verda for the awesome chest armor - it really fits great!!

I welcome your thoughts and critiques - I can take it! :P Now for the pics:

Heh, saw your thread in the Wampa area, so I added my two cents there, but it's good to see you posted a thread up here too; more traffic out here in the armor boards.

Ben: What do we do now? Lob a baradium missile at it?
Luke: Do we have a baradium missile?
Ben: Sorry, Uncle Han said it was always a good idea to have one--
Luke: Your uncle isn't a jedi. I wish you'd remember that.

Solid looking kit! The fit is spot on. The only thing that looks a bit wonky to me is the position of the backplate (it's always the darn backplate, isn't it? :P ). It seems a bit crooked. How do you have it attached? It may just be how you placed it this time if it's held on by something like velcro.

Looks good. the only things that stand out to me is your shoulder plates need lining up better, and your backplate, although wonky. looks to be a bit short. if you could add another piece, you can get away with it being segmented. As it is you might get denied with it being too short.

I like the look of the short backplate, personally, but I guess I don't know how the app team judges "back coverings."

It's in the CRL's... from shoulder to shoulder and base of neck to mid lower back.

The design is cool but yeah I agree with Remo, it's short. Adding a second or even two plates to fill the lower area's will be needed.

Great tips, I didn't even think about the size if the backplate. As it is in the pics, my friend totally put that and my shoulders on crooked (both attached with Velcro) so that won't be an issue when I send in official pictures.

I was thinking about attaching the cape to both shoulders instead of one - would covering up the short backplate be allowed instead of getting more pieces? I don't even know what lower back plates look like.

Thanks for your advice guys!

Per the CRLs, a cape basically has to cover from shoulder to shoulder and shoulder to waist, so that folks can't tell there's not a full back plate under there. From the look of it, yours should be plenty big enough to do the job if you attached it to both shoulders.

Ben: What do we do now? Lob a baradium missile at it?
Luke: Do we have a baradium missile?
Ben: Sorry, Uncle Han said it was always a good idea to have one--

Great I'd rather do that than pay for more plates :p

From an App team standpoint. We would rather you made an extention piece for your lower back. But, as Slade pointed out you can hide it by covering up with a cape. I would however recomend you make an extended piece, it would look so much better   ;)  :) .
