update on last post: carved out a HUD on the interior, got it about 90% done, then my dremel died and I got electricuted on the pot. switch that is used to control it's speed ect. But, considering I had to carve it with the visor still in the helmet, it turned out relatively ok. I would still have prefered to do it with the visor out, but oh well. I got good HUD glow with the helmet off-but when I put it on, the light did not travel more than a couple inches-due to my helmet being almost too small for me now, I will be trying it again on the DESTROYER when visor/electronics time comes.

I got an interesting idea today that I figured would make this work. A haircut. Now note, that I only get haircuts when I am going to be wearing my helmet-i.e. now. So I got it trimmed down to like 2" and 1: the helmet actualy fits me better, 2: the hair lets more light bounche around inside, 3: when I am not wearing the helmet; it is comforting to see the glowing blue HUD...not jsut because I <3 Republic Commandos(which my charactor is a Rep./Imp.Com. deserter...Gamma 1775), but my very first kit, while it was very..."basic", it is still the only real good thing I remember about my earlier childhood. Back when I was 9 or so, I made this. Note that this was without any adult assistance...just like all of my builds...cardboard plates mounted onto an 18 gauge stainless steel "torso plate" and all is not exactly what I would prefer over my current setup...but here is the first one. Made via copper pipe "wireframe" covered in cardboard and then No-More-Nails glue and wet sanded then painted with acrylic paint ect...i also did the electrical all by myself...been doing that stufff since I was 7 years old...

and this one....

is a reasonable acomplishment.

idk-lemme check and I'll update this comment with the rasaults, don't post over this thraed for a couple mins pl0x

update:
because this helmet is boarderline too small for my head to fit good in...it...some the the LED's don't do their proper amount of illuminating, and considering the back of my head and forehead are "pressfit" into it, and taht I am using "Finger Lights" little plastic cases with an elastic, a switch, and an LED with batteries, it seems to be doing an OK job at glowing it up. I can only really make out the edges of the bridge of my nose, the reflection on my eyes from the lights inside the helmet, and when the bottom is lit you can see my nose crushed up against the visor. Most of these problems should be solved witht he bigger helmet...I hope.  Worse case scenario is EL wire and the inherint insanity brought on the the buzz of the inverter, just loop a meter or so across the top of the visor, paint the inside glossy white, and let the light bounce around the make it look kind of like the REP./IMP. COM. HUDs.   All of a sudden today i am having dificulty getting my helmet off.....ouch.

Here are pics of my Skirita Arms Destroyer, D-14 of 15.   Current electronics are fans, earcap LEDs, a external microphone input which will be integrated into the VA, and a speaker on the respirator greeb on the cheek plate. I plan on hollowing it out and putting a better speaker in it.
oh and for starters, THIS STUFF IS YOUR FRIEND(ethyl2 cyanoacrylate super glue) 28.5ml for $11 is a good price considering 2ml will cost you $2-$4 at most doalr stores, the gel stuff gets more expensive but i get it for the same price as the liquid

here you can see the one killstripe I added the day after I went to my first convention(Harbour Con-Fusion)

and I added another today after my animal shelter fundraiser event, which was run by the Harbour Con folk.

I also did better weathering on the cheek greebs, and by better weathering I mean a little bit of black/brown wash.

here is the front view after yesterday's maintance.

I used Krylon Nickle Shimmer for the metalic coat on all my armour

it plays in diferant ligthing nicely

now the inside
front

right side
]
back

left side

lights
earcap lights on right side

glowy switch on back and amber LED

left side earcaps and dremal light.

i also intend on putting a listening device in it with some headphones at the tops of the earcaps, and a voice amp of course. it would have it's speaker in the left cheek greeb, and possible on the right; contemplating putting a little greeb to disguise the lsitening device's mic a bit like GSR's crest thing, but more subtle and resembling something else...maybe like a mini camera thing with a dvd sled lense...

Honestly, the only thing I can suggest is get a darker tinted visor. It looks pretty see through in those pics. ...Which you should get some new ones less blurry. But that all aside, bub, it looks good to me. I love the weathering.

That's because the helmet is hollow and a light source, albeit ambient, is behind it. Put a head in it, and it's black as night.

I've been thinking of getting an iridium visor in a red-ish tint with some red EL wire for a HUD and so my face becomes completely invisible behind it(from outside viewing anyways)  I do like the way I look in this vid at 0:17 wit the black visor though...

A quick update so my threads (well, at least this one...the rest are in like...Carbon Freezing by the looks of the archaic glyphs on them))oh wait, that's my bad older typing of over-mis-spelling the as "teh" ))don't get all moldy and delapitated

So, ohkeh, Allow me to start this off with a story of sorts...back in the day(aprox. late 2007-2008) my friend and I were on youtube screwing around when we found some starwars fanvids, and went clicking off featured vids from there, and we found a cheap easy build stormtrooper costume vid, and from there we saw the "cerial box boba fett armour" vid, were the feller was making a mando armour plate tutorial were you glued layers of cardboard together and then put acrylic paint over it(DA-V1 was cardboard over a stainless steel "vest"-shup I didn't have much for info resources) and then from that video we saw Hydra's Lizean Akai or however it was spelt mando, and my friend got all discouraged because his (even worse than DA-V1) suuuuucked even in comparison to mine...srry but I won;t sugercoat it lol, and anyways, Hydra, the cardboard mando, and of course my very old youtube mando friend Euburgo were the "inspirational beings" behind my mando-ing. And then after comparing DA-V2 to all the other mandos on here I was about to give up, but then I have Thaxos to thank for being all like"no don give up you noob" and to prove I wasn;t a noob beacuse I'm atin like that(stubborn) I stuck around.
So the following people are "responsible" for me sticking around:

Hydra
Beviic who made the metal mando armour vids(just remembered)
the cardboard mando armour video guy
Euburgo
Thaxos

and someday I hope to troop with each of the above mentioned vod and tell them that they were inspirational charactors for me and kept me on the mando track. because i'm admirable like that.

now onto that update. I spent a good $85 (my "back to school shopping" money))my mother doesn't understand me, but I just did the 'ol "well you don't even know how old I am!" to get out of trouble [not joking about that btw] )) in electronics for my helmet. At aweful retail price...I was unable to scrounge a listening device or speakers small enough for me to use. But anyways. I bought some raelly low-profile high output 8ohm speakers for only like $4.50ea, a Ne-X-Tech listening device for $30, a smaller profile pc fan to fit in the backso i had more room(salvaged), a new, bad$@@ antenna for my helmet(ripped straight outa the "goldenwing" helmet, gaming headphones, $10 and a "expensive" $30 1lbs roll of lead-baering solder. Because silver bearing electrical solder is $90 per roll :X   I'd rather deal with some lead fumes stinking up my small room and very crowded helmet. I have the tiny lighter-sized listenign device ripped open and the mic extended to a spot at the top middle of the T visor, and the speakers from the gaming headset are inside the earcaps for the lsitening device, and I used the mic from that for a VA in the works. the listening device is run by a LR2032 battery, and I also put a slide switch and red LED to indicate it being on at the power source. I am also thinking about putting a LED along each speaker, but I'm not sure what effects that might have. the listneing device is best used for things that are like...across the street, and I and getting s**ty feedback issues with the audio syustems a bit, I need somekind of static/feedback filter. I hear they make these little aluminum cans with terminals like a capacitor in shape/size that are supposed to work for that in automotive stereos...
but anyhow, the "goldenwing" antenna looks great on it, I feel it needs a couple gold rings painted onto it in order to properly pay my homage to that. I hollowed out the cheek greebs for the speakers, I think that with their interesting shapes, they should give me some nice audio effects...and the external plug on the right earcap, remember that-below the antena?  I hooked that up to the VA mic to act as an external speaker soruce, and I'm going to hook it up to the rest of the speakers for a "boom-bucket" thing lolz :P    also have a 3position rocker switch to swap between internal VA speakers, or external. I will also bridge all the speakers to the external port for the boom bucket effect...and also, anyone be so kind as to help me with my feedback issues?  Jarek Tahl-Tracyne helped me out a bit the other day, but I was unable to do what he recomended as I hath not a farridic static choke at my desposal.

the current helmet mass ratio is:
resincast helmet+greebs weight to electronics/batteries
1:3

also need to replace the shade5 poly visor with a new one of the same type, or a adequitly tinted smokeygrey/brownish visor...I really want a red HUG glow effect without using an iridium visor is all...  Oh and I'm thinking I should have bought a heatgun when they were on sale...to shape the poly visors a bit so I can glue them in eaasier without them wanting to pull out y'know?
