My first set WIP
« on: Aug 11, 2011, 02:33 PM »
Okay so I am well on my way of making my first set of armor, and would love any feedback I can get. My bucket is a modified Hasbro Electronic Boba Fett Helmet, and all armor etc is made of Sintra. I have not figured out how to post pictures on this forum yet, so here is a link to find the pics. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2211753980759.129146.1454798709&l=f3f7487450&type=1

Awesome, Thanks!

You're very welcome! Now get those pics on up and let us see!
Also, there's a lot of really good tutorials on here that you should check out, that is if you haven't already. Best of luck on your kit! I'll be watching.

I still have a long way to go. I need a flight suit, and a vest, but i do have a few ideas about that. I'm a pretty big guy so I may need to make some additional armor plates as well.

Would be good to see the plates on you, to get a sense of sizing so we can make sure you've got the sizing and spacing right.
As for the arm, might I recommend a blaster end more beefy like Kibiri has, since he is your inspiration on that piece...
Personally, it looks a disproportionate between the arm size and the blaster end.
Beef it up so you can mow down waves of enemies  8)

Looks good. you did a great job on the visor part of that HBF.  Only concern I have is on the cheek area. Looks like there are gaps there and the bondo didnt take well.  May wanna go back and redo that and smooth it out. Also the bottom of the "chin" area for the lack of a better term.  You dont want a great looking costume and then noticable imperfections where people are going to look at you the most.  Keep up the great work  :D

All Arrhythmias straighten themselves out at the end.

Yeah the epoxy I used didn't smooth out as nice as I wanted it to, so I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. As far as the arm, I was thinking the same thing. Needs more 'oomph' :)

If you don't speak Scottish....he basically said put a bit of bondo in those areas to fill and smooth.

Epoxy is great for bonding and filling, but you'll always need to use at least a little bit of bondo to smooth out.  Sand the area real well before applying the bondo...as it won't stick to paint well.
