Grats on the win, and you should definitely apply. Armor and weapons look great. Not too hip on the checker pattern tho ;) Looks like we're all gonna sit on ya and have a mando picnic.

Thanks Yeah that is why i did not app when i completed the KIT. No one liked it. most folks said the work was amazing but the color scheme to loud and over bearing. I accept that and did not apply. Though I will not change who I am! Since then I have constructed a fantasy armored costume and a HALO Hyabusa costume and a Killzone costume. I will begin work on a second Mando KIT this year, maybe folks will like that one more when I am done. It will not have checkers.

no I love the yellow and the rest, a lot
checkerboard pattern that widely used is just not something you'd ever see in a Star Wars movie. the bit on the cod and the cheeks and that stripe on the gut plate works fine, but the vest and other soft goods with the pattern makes it overdone. i really think this is a good lookin kit with a couple of tweaks

I totally agree with Lucas here. An option to consider- you could also have a second set of the mentioned soft parts in black to swap out for official events and still keep the checkerboard for unofficial things if you wanted.

I think the addition of the checks in the vest is not so much a 'too much' issue as it is a ruins the lines of the plates issue. I have no real problem with the checks, and hey let's be honest, you took 2nd place, so SOMETHING is right!   :D

First things first: Congratz on your placement in the costume contest!

Second: black and yellow checkerboard pattern is actually quite canon... OTC canon in fact. A little Rebel pilot who was a friend of Luke from Tattooine... Biggs Darklighter:

Third thing: I think we were all a bit dejected when you dissappeared. I know you took alot of heat for your color pattern and I was a part of it. but, there were a couple of easy compromises that you could have made, and still can, to really pull this kit together and have a winner!

Like McCoy I think the checkerboard on the armor and soft goods is over kill and takes what could be a great and unique color pattern into the gaudy range. If you went too black on your cape and vest, youd have an original and excellant kit here. Look slike you did a very legit job on the weathering too. I think this has a very OTC fit and feel to it.

That said, based only upon this pic, without being able to see other angles and such, if you applied it as is, it would likely pass app. But, I think those changes in the soft parts would honor and retain the "you" in the kit and take it from being a bit over the top to being very well done.

Thanks. Yeah, i understand and that is why I never complained about it, i respect the opinons of those that hold this dear to them, that is what makes it special for everyone here. I will begin work on a second KIT in the next month or so and have already begun gather my parts. Thanks for the advise.

I dig it. Sure, it's loud, and a little gaudy, but who says a Mandalorian can't be a little eccentric?

If you were to change anything, I'd say just losing the checker on the vest would be more than sufficient to turn this into a #1 kit.
(Your weathering's fantastic, by the by!)

It's on the cape too. Those two things and this would be awesome.

And agreed, the weathering is top notch.
