Ghostwalker - ReBuild (new pics p.11)
Ghostwalker:
I'm back!
Got some of my post vacation RL stuff done, still need to hire a moving company and sign the new lease.
But then... then I can get back into gear and work on my Legacy re-build.
-Shoulders have been replaced with Forge Props vac-pulls, hope they fit.
Duct tape mannequin is pretty much done, foamed and stuffed.. need to make some small fixes to it.
But essentially I should now be able to bang out a better fitting Ab/Chest piece in much better time.
- Knees aren't a big issue, just going to replace with larger versions.
- Biceps armor... well I learned alot from V1 as far as shape, size, material and wear+tear goes. V2 will be plastic sheet rather than fiberglassed cardboard and if possible attached to the bells.
-Ditching the vest this time around, it is unnecessary for my build and adds an extra heat-trapping layer.
-Gauntlets... I am tempted to make mannequin (forearms) to ease the build of these, but let's wait and see how much the torso helps me first.
Ca'tal:
Glad to have you back big guy!
Ohl'd Vart:
So...a vest is NOT required for Legacy?
Rob
Ghostwalker:
unless the CRLs have changed you do need one.
however I'm sure I can do the torso without a vest as an integral piece.
I may still have to wear one for official events just to satisfy reqs.
I do have an idea on how to fake a vest, let me work out the kinks in it and we'll see if it flies.
Ohl'd Vart:
I'd like to see that, Ghost, because like yourself, I'm not too fond of the extra "sweat equity" a vest adds to a Legacy kit. ;)
My (and my son's) current design are so encompassing, that I'm not sure you'll even be able to see a vest under the lorica segmentata we are calling Merc Legacy plates...and as much as I like Whitecrow1's vest build, it seems like a bit much effort to go through to build something that won't be seen (or, at least the extreme details won't be seen).
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. ;)
Rob
