Riding pants and kenee high boots????
« on: Jun 05, 2011, 04:08 AM »
Ok so I have been looking for a nice decent alternative to a flightsuit and something that doesnt make me looking like a stripper-mando.
I do ride horses and I used do Show Jump compitions and I have several pairs of riding pants/breeches what have you. they are prim and propper khaki and black colors. They are made from strechy fabric but not skin tight. I'm thinking armour would look really good on them. If you want to see what they look like visit Doversaddlery.com and look at riding pants.

I also have and wear my riding boots all the time. Do our pants have to go over our boots? or can just the armor go over the boots. They are a flatter sturdy boot with a full comfy heel.Basically they look like motorcycle cop boots.

Just throwing ideas out there. Please let me know what you think. Please note I am in Arizona and it just HOT here.
Thanks all :)
These are like the ones I have but the fabric is the same on the seat and pants

well,  riding-breeches  were actualy used as Flightsuit part  long before overalls were in common.

but for SW purposes  it would look  darn Imperial, you know?    ;)

you can wear the boots over the pants and put the armor over the boots. The flight suit can be a two piece but you need to make sure the top and bottom look like a one piece. Depending on how you work it the pants/joppers may not look right, especially if you intend on having thigh armor or a drop down leg holster.

Just IMO but jodhpurs scream Imperial Officer to me. Depending on how you do them they could still work though. The boots should be fine over the pants as long as any laces are covered.

Well, if they work for you in your concept, and they don't conflict with the CRL's, go for it!

Riding boots are just fine without having to be covered in armor, and modern style sport jodhpurs should work well, since they're just reinforced pants.  All you have to do is make sure your shirt more or less matches the pants and you'll be set.

Though, for concept's sake, you may want to think about putting your armor together to look sleek, fast, and dangerous.  Riding gear works well to start suggesting that you ride a swoop or speeder bike.

I'm sure you could find a way to justify it.... build your set as a high speed recon mando. Or like Orikad said; as a swoop bike racer.

Dude, go for it!!!  It doesn't conflict with the CRL's, so ya you can do it.

I think this could be an awesome idea if it's done right!

Ha!

Ask and you shall receive......  ;)

Honestly though, I think it would make sense to be a light set of armor with nicely sculpted lines. No too much extra gear, keep it light and streamlined.

And maybe even match the paint on your plates to the paint on your bike.  Just don't try to ride the bike with your Mando helmet on.

DJ aka Scorlord, one of your local AZ Mandos, has ridden his motorcycle to events.  He  wears his full armor, but swaps his bucket for the proper helmet for which ever situation.
