Author Topic: AA's soft parts starter... Gloves, flight suit, and possible vest?  (Read 1399 times)

As for the armour covering the main zipper, it'll need covering. Also, the belly armour comes just in between the side pockets so those need to be covered as well. For that, I'm actually thinking of making a single leather piece that all my armour mounts to that buttons on one side. Might make for easier access that way.

i approve of this idea. it's sensible, practical, and effective. very mando.

You'll want it buttoning more than just on the one side; I'd say sewn on one side (which was no doubt the plan) and either buttons on all three other sides, or velcro, snaps or something. Otherwise that front cover panel will end up moving oddly whenever you twist or bend certain ways.

Heck, you could probably get away with covering the front of the vest with velcro, then covering the back of the cover panel with the other side of the velcro. Mount the armor to the cover panel, put the vest on and velcro the cover panel in place. Quick and easy like.

Ben: What do we do now? Lob a baradium missile at it?
Luke: Do we have a baradium missile?
Ben: Sorry, Uncle Han said it was always a good idea to have one--
Luke: Your uncle isn't a jedi. I wish you'd remember that.

Good one, vod...  ;D
I'm thinking for mine I'll do a suede panel to hold the armor, and use snaps all the way around.
Ahhh, I love good ideas...  8)

Any updates on how well that vest worked, and what kind of modifications were needed?

Got my vest finally, and I'm going to take a few pics and post them.
I think the neck is too low, so I need some advice!

Thanks,
