Chro's Gaunts, now iPod compatible and less shooty.

Larmos Vikarr:
I really like the way this is going. Getting it CRL ready shouldn't be hard I wouldn't think, and it should be awesome looking once it is.

If you're fine by it Chro, I'd like to eventually use this style gaunt in my kit. Mine would be for my phone though, and I would like to also get a BT headset to through in the bucket as well. This would make catching up with the 5 others I'm going to SDCC a bit easier, and more character friendly. I also thought it might be neat to have a flip up cover over the screen itself. Using two hinges and a simple piece of plastic(and maybe a foam bottom to not damage the screen) I think this would work out nicely. Then the only time the screen is in view is when you flip this up.

Chro:
Yeah, this shouldn't be difficult at all, I have some old remotes and calculators lying around waiting to be cannibalized.

And Larmos, I am totally fine with being a trendsetter  ;D. I use a BT headset in my helmet for my phone, I just leave the phone in my pocket and have it set to pick up automatically on the second or third ring, no hassle, no missed lunch meetup. We all know how much of a bugger it is trying to dig out a phone and helmet juggle to grab a call. I thought of the flip cover this morning, I'm going to try to avoid it for the time being, but it definitely sounds like a solid solution to me.

Dresdon Acacin:
I even fabricated my own spring powered hinge! But, for me, if it dont light up, it aint goin on my gautnlets-lol

I -do- however, have soem good advice, you should wear hand-wraps under your gauntlets and jumpsuits. I am curently using self-cling gunwrap. I have some I'll be wearing under and on the outside of teh gauntlets. It helps keep your arms from sweating too much.

Chro:
How's this for some chunkyness:

As you can imagine, it's mostly a destroyed dollar store calculator, I have some other little greebs on the other side just to even the package out.

To make the new buttons pop a bit I painted them up, but I'm not quite decided on the colors.

Thoughts? Better? Worse? I'm all up for critique here.

Pointoforigin:
That, my good sir, is brilliance.

The colours work well, but they probably need a bit of wear around the very edges and in the centre of each, to make it look like they actually get pressed.
