Chro's Gaunts, now iPod compatible and less shooty.

Chro, per CRLs,
' Greeblies: No contemporary technology unless hidden or cleverly disguised. (Examples: Exposed IPods, Iphones, Cell phones, Calculators, PDAs, or Palm devices)"
Maybe the idea of adding faux buttons and switches to the case is your best bet, that way the only part readily identifiable would be the screen.

Why not just a Star Wars style screen?
As for the topic at hand, it's not against the CRL's it's just not quite compliant. You can do such a thing but, you need to dress it up. As it sits now, it looks like what it is, a smart phone, in a hardcase, glued to a gauntlet. The casing should be altered some...add some buttoms and levers etc. Maybe change the shape of the cutout some to make the screen look different etc. It has potetntial but still has a ways to go.
Chro:
Alrighty, buttons and greebs it is. I'll do some tinkering to make this work.

You can do it. this is such a great addition to your kit. I hate having to find my phone or give it to my handler at cons. im sure with a few foamies and maybe an old circuit board painted up, this will look great!

As others said, some old fashioned buttons will help, and I think it would also help to make a larger sort of frame around the phone. That way you can add buttons along the 'bottom' as well as the sides. It could be as simple as making the base that the phone case is glued onto larger, so that you can set the case into it a bit, rather than having it perched on top.
