I Hate Backpacks - Finally Complete!

No'saj Huune:
I have that bust  :D  But seriously like you it's inspired me as well to make a "heavy hitter" pack thats gone through several attempts but nothing good enough to even post pics of.  Glad to see someone else likes this design.  ;D

MandalorianEwok:
I've spent all my latest free time on my helmet.  Now that it is complete as I can make it until my tint comes in, I'm looking at my next project.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure what one is next.  I see a lot of PVC piping in my future though.  As I think I can make a lot from that.  The weapons rack will be the easiest.  (And by easiest I should say, the least difficult.  That is to say hard but not as hard as the rest.)  :)

I'm sure I could go the sintra (sp) route, but I'm hoping to come across something at a thrift store or Goodwill Superstore that screams "Use me!"  We'll see.  And, I will most definitely keep ya'll posted as I progress.

MandalorianEwok:
OK, so here's my shopping list and plan for my back pack.  My exciting new project in my quest for a Mandalorian suit.

First, I give you the plan:

Now, the PVC sizes are approximate and may change as I start the build.  But this is what I have planned to start.  The additions will most likely be sintra strips.  But like everyone knows, plans can and may change.

Secondly, I have plans to make the back pack semi working.  The plan is to incorporate a fan into the back pack and have it blow cool air into the helmet using #1.  Also, if you notice above #8, there is another small box as well as another hose.  (Sorry, didn't have a # added to this one.)  The plan for that one is to have it be the power for the voice box.  That is, if I have one.  But it will open so I can add it at a later date if need be.  Also, if you look at the picture below, you'll see what looks like a speaker box.  If I make the armor similar to the McQuarrie Concept Fett, I may use this as the speaker.

The rest of the back pack will be mainly cosmetic and aesthetic.  Though it is possible I may decide to also incorporate a water bladder into it as well.  (Just thought of that as I was typing this.) :)

So, that's where I'm at.  Still at the planning, but moving ever forward.  Input would be appreciated if someone feels the need.

Pointoforigin:
It's a tiny, tiny piece of input, but I think the bottom horizontal tube should be 3" not 2". It appears to me to be half the width of the piece you said to be 6".

Bazii Malric:
Seems you do have it well thought out for your shopping list.  I can't wait to see what you come up with for the fans to push air into your helmet.  Some others have had that type of concept but I have yet to see anyone actually do it.  I hope it works out for you!  Good luck!!   ;D
