Hahaha, I actually have one of those cell phone swivel clips (looks like that exact same one) sitting on my craft table because I was thinking of using it with my next helmet build, too funny, I'm just missing the little button thing. I'll probably try out both and see which I like best. Making my pants just got a whole lot easier! LOL Thanks! :D

Seugtai, I spent some time thinking about a holster for your ripper when you first posted building it. Sorry I didn't mention my idea earlier. Below is the inspiration for my solution, based on a bowquiver for archery. This image is upside down for a holster, please imagine it the other way.

If you have a large solid cylindrical cup at the bottom of the holster, the barrel of the Ripper sits in it and is protected from gravity and random collisions. A retaining strap near the top, as you've already figured out, is the other part of securing the ripper, like the rubber clips in the picture above to hold the arrows in place. You can fasten this to your pants if you are really fixated on that idea, or make a frame similar to the quiver above and hang it holster style from a belt. (refer to my previous comments on the benefit of that, lol)
Hold still, this won't hurt me a bit...

Just occurred to me; another place to look for inspiration would be camera holsters.  I know a couple semi-pro photographers and they have something along the same basic design as that cell phone clip but made to carry cameras, which are both heavier, more expensive and people seem to place more value on. [Think of how many times you've seen a high end camera dropped as opposed to a cell phone :P]  So in theory they would be far more reliable and heavy duty.

If you're looking to use the camera hanger, you can get the round part that goes on the phone made in several different metals if you hit up the various saber construction groups.  I know MHS has some options for sure.

Good idea, I wouldn't have thought to check the saber makers for ideas to mount a weapon.  Perfectly obvious in hind sight : D

WE saber jockies use d-rings, covertechs and maybe one or two other means of securing our sabers to our person. I doubt it would be much use for a holster...if maybe to help secure the weapon in place like a catch.

@a'den

 I always wanted a saber holster side ways on the back of my belt that would open at the bottom so that it fell out in to your hand.

No, I haven't forgotten about that full upper body test fit, there were a few things I wasn't 100% happy with so I took a little extra time to get them where I want them and am glad to say it will be happening tomorrow. So stay tuned! :D

Anyways, I have completely finished up the gaunts and thought I'd share. Everything has been permanently attached to each other and surprisingly I am able to put them on myself and get them wrapped with no help. I'm very excited about that.

Just a bunch of different views for your viewing pleasure.
(Oh, and just a side note, that snap that is quite visible on the one strap is really more toward the inside like the other when it's on my arm)

Did Bio, Tag or Mandalor talk you into stress testing the website with a statement like that  :P So I guess we'll be able to tell when you put the pics up cause of the site will be down.

The straps are attached to themselves right? Not the hard part or leather undernieth? The snaps themselves are a non issue with me, especially since you took the time to weather them as well, but if you didn't want them to have such a high profile on the guants maybe have them snap into the leather underside of your guants directly.
Well I guess it's a good thing I never sent your ika's those boxes of candy I was threatening, there would of been a stormtroopers chance on endor of me being able to do the helmet as much justice as you are doing with the entire costume.

Have a good one,
Hagen
P.S. if you could OM me the time your going to put the pics up, just so I can get a peak before the site comes crashing down :P
