^_^ You have shoulder danglies! I tried to get some to work with my old beast master kit back in the day, but yours look ten times better. lol Love 'em.

Nice addition! I think it will really go well with the overall theme you have going!

Re: Fem-mando Early Crusader (finished LEATHER CHEST pg.59)
The leather chest piece is finished now except for JB welding down the brass trim seal ends. I decided after talking to several members on the boards more about wet forming to just forgo it altogether. It pretty much already had it's final shape so I decided it was good enough to move ahead with staining. I decided on using the Bison Brown, which I applied in several layers. Then I thought it needed a bit more, and fortunately I still had some black (Fiebing's) leather dye left over from a previous project so I added it just like I have with my black washes for my others parts. I got an old artist brush to apply the dye to the areas I wanted; then used the same wool dauber to stain the brown to blend it in a bit more.

The Front.

The Right side.

The Left side.

The Back.

I added another danglie to my shoulder since as you can see from this picture the one was very subtle, you almost have to be looking for it to find it. (But looking at the picture now, I need to fix the way the new one is knotted. And, yes, I still have to dirty those holes.)

A full upper front view. (I'm not sure if the gap between the chest piece and ab is okay or if I should tuck the top of the ab plate just under the chest piece?) Opinions.

A full upper back view.

THANK YOU everyone! I'm glad they went over so well! ;D

You've hit the nail on the head again, it is all about the little details and bits and pieces that take a good kit and make it fantastic. Adding in the small details adds realism and as you said, depth and dimension to a kit.

As usual keep up the good work.

Thanks Ajax! Personally, I love any kind of art that you can look at multiple times and still find something new you didn't notice before. That's always my aim with my own art as well.

Looks great, ner vod! Maybe you could do a run of axes for peeps to buy! I'd buy one!

Maybe one day when I learn to make molds and such, because the time in one of these is a good bit and the weight is probably more than the average Joe would want to lug around with them. LOL Plus the paint apps. are what really sell the whole thing I think.

I think, leave the gap between the chest plate and the stomach. Aesthetically, I think it looks nice that way. Plus, getting the stomach to stay tucked under the chest plate would be a pain, unless you added snaps to connect both of them, and you'd also end up losing coverage having to hike the stomach plate up.

Though, I'm not sure what the source pictures say to do, whether those plates overlap or not.

I'd say your good with a slight gap. The imiage you have in the start of the threed doesn't show a gap but it a top viewing down pic and it does show small gaps between the second and third ab plates. To lazy right now to look up the pic from the Star Wars Insider of the Sith Era Mando, but even with the top of the ab plates were covered, I'd leave the bit of a gap for mobility.

So start weathering up that jacket Sueg, it looks out of place now with the armor on it  :P

Have a good one,
Hagen

Hahaha, yeah i saw that when I was loading the pictures and wondered if anyone else you catch it. Good eye. I also dripped a spot of stain on my backpack that has to be fixed as well. ;)

This just made me laugh! Since Squirrel abandoned his name maybe I can take it over... :P :D ;)

I will. ;) The hoses need weathering up too.
So Hagen, you still not like the bison brown or has it grown on ya?

Okay, thanks, I will. Yes, it would be a pain to tuck it under the chest piece so I'm glad it looks fine the way it is. Thanks.
