O.k. I've sat here for ten minutes trying to come up with the right words. All I can think of is WOW. I only wish I was as good as you on the detailing. You set a very high standard for me to follow.  ;D

Well acouple of things I can say about her is
1: if she doesn't know, she asks questions, lots and lots of questions. She tries it, learns from her mistakes, Then asks a few more questions...

2:  If she messes up a piece, she does it over again, until she gets it the way she wants it, then three months down the road she changes her mind again.....

3: She taking her time, I mean almost a year and not there yet. most likely 100 + hours into it. Planning each stage as she goes.   Take notice. If we all put the hours in our kits she has, we'd all have kick shebs kits...

Follow these simple steps and you too can have a great kit.... ;D

I take issue with this point. When have I ever gone back and changed something I've changed!? Hmmm Hmmm?
The only thing that I've changed is the copper weathering (by majority vote) and making my gloves (first time making those; I see it as a learning experience)  :D  Okay, maybe the visor on the helmet is the only thing that qualifies here, that was changed a ridiculous amount of times. But, I'm completely happy with it NOW. ;D

But, yes, he's right. I do ask lots of questions, I'm a bit of a research nut.

O.k. I've sat here for ten minutes trying to come up with the right words. All I can think of is WOW. I only wish I was as good as you on the detailing. You set a very high standard for me to follow.  ;D

Thanks Ruugla. Your doing a great job as well! You have me even wandering over to soaring hammer now and then to check if you've posted anything new there.

If you use JB weld on the leather, be sure to dye it first, otherwise the dye wont penetrate through the glue.

Okay, thanks. I will be sure to stain FIRST. ;)

practice and patience.

Yep. The more we learn the better we get, practice makes perfect, right? :D

As usual, words fail in comparison at the attention to detail, planning and execution that you do. Very cool, just doesn't say enough for how good your kit is coming along. I need to catch up apparently...

The brass ring looks good going all the way around, and adds a very cool touch.
The upper body piece looks fantastic in general!

The face makeup is an awesome idea and very well executed and is very cool so that when you do take off the buy'ce, you can remain in character. Facepainting has been around for thousands of years, despite the avatar movie, so don't let that dissuade you, run with making your whole character. There was another female mando on the boards that did a whole face paint and hair job for her char as well, so run with it and experiment until you get the look you want. Then photograph it so you can remember how it looks, and then the neat thing is, you can have several face paint designs. Nothing says you have to have only one design. Another idea is for you take a pic of your face from the straight on and from the sides and then use a computer paint program to practice ideas and designs or maybe work with someone who has photoshop and have them help you with designs to see what they could look like.

On another note, when you get this done, I have got to set up a photoshoot with you because this outfit is exceptional and I will have to have a shoot done with you and this outfit. Now since I live in MO and you live in TN, we'll have to figure out a way to get that done, somehow, lol.

Keep up the great work and as usual, can't wait to see what you do next. Your work is making me want to start my Late Era/KOTOR Era mando outfit...

So I was staring at the whole back set-up last night and an idea just popped into my head for a better way to do the top loop to support the axe. It basically said "Hey dummy, attach it to the leather chest piece!" So I tried it, and sure enough it worked out perfectly. Now my shoulder will sit right again and I wont have to add anything to the bottom of the axe handle. Win, win.

Close up. Showing the simple solution it took me forever to come up with...-head desk-

A whole view. Isn't that exciting? Starting to come together.

Ajax, I would love to get to set up a photo session with you sometime when everything is complete! I'm sure I wouldn't have to twist my husbands arm too much to make another trip to MO, as long as he can stop off at the Springfield Brewing Company on the way. :D ;)

Thank you for all your other bits of input. I'm not gonna let one comment deter me from the face markings I like so much and I think once I'm wearing everything else Avatar wont be the first thing that comes to mind, it will all make sense. I've also used Photoshop for practicing ideas out for a Day of the Dead project before and it came quite in handy in settling on a design for all the people involved. LOL But thank you for suggesting it, it may be an idea that helps someone else out reading this thread. ;)

Oh, I'm very excited to see a Late Era/KOTOR Era kit from you! Since that's my next kit planned we'll have to get someone else to take our pictures together! ;D

i honestly don't think that there is another kit around that is going to have the visual impact that this one will. With the combination of the build quality, and the rarity of the style, she will stand out wherever she appears!

I'm glad she put the loop in the right spot, that comic pic has it too far forward. it looks like it would be too tight to lower his arm without snapping the shaft :P

Wow, every time I check this thread it's looking even better! I can't wait to see the whole kit come together. :) The face paint is cool too. It reminds me a lot of A'Sharad Hett, so it definitely works in a Star Wars context.
