Someone commissioned you this close to d*con? That smacks of bad planning on their part. . . :-\

I agree that patience is the right course of action, as hurrying this kit along would only take away from the excellent job you've done so far. :)

Wait, you take commissions? what kind?

:D Most everything related to costuming or sewing in general.

Now Kav'an remeber the old addage a spoon full of sugar... It's not nice to keep things from Suegtai cause of some other Dikut'.  :P
Why?!?!?!?!?!?!?  :'(

I belive Dralkote has more of the right idea here but wait till Suegtai gets paid unless your going to compensate her when he dies  :P

Such a shame it won't be ready for it's grand unvailing for D'con, there is this con in San Fransico thats run by the same guys that do SDCC called WonderCon, I think it would be a great place to unvail your crusader  ;D :P and the next one isn't until april or may of next year so you'll have plenty of time to finish... can't hurt a guy for trying... well I guess you could *looks for some suitable cover*

Have a good one,
hagen

I have been a silent observer of your thread for some time now, and must say that though it will be disappointing if you are not able to make it, I totally understand not wanting to rush your armor since it is so awesome. I do hope to at least be able to meet the woman behind the build though while I am there. Keep up the beautiful work, and maybe you can get the commission and your kit done in time. I know its a short time away, I am myself stressing to get my kit and help my roommate with his kit to be ready by D*Con.

Hope to see you there, in kit or not.

Do these new commissions skip to the front of the line to the non-paying ones?

No, your a trade silly and you were the first to ask. You stay in your top slot, well except for this late one. Happy? LOL  :D

I do hope to at least be able to meet the woman behind the build though while I am there.

Maybe I should just wander around in my helmet so you all know who I am. LOL  :P

Let's chill out on calling people names (re: di'kut).  Seugtai obviously knew she would be sacrificing her time by taking on this commision, so let's not make the person feel bad by calling them names.  For all we know it could be someone here on the boards reading these posts.

The workmanship on this costume is just astounding, Seugtai. You keep surprising me with all the creative ways you find to tackle the various pieces of this set. I mean, sewing your own gloves? That takes commitment. ;) Very excited to see this finished, whenever it is. I love that you're taking your time on it to do it right (better than right); it's a refreshing attitude. You're going to look like you walked right out of the comic books.

No kidding. It was obviously Seugtai's choice to accept a commission, and frankly, you could all be hurting her business (needed business, for all you know) by treating a paying customer like a criminal. I get that her armor is one of the coolest things to hit this forum in the last few months, but sheesh, you guys are acting like fanatics.

Does that mean we have to take down the shrine?  ;D

Bring what you need to the armor party and maybe we can help.

Yes, thank you. Thankfully this is not a client affiliated with the boards here. But yes, this is something I would like to try doing more of, taking on commissions, so please don't scare away anyone here from even asking.  ;)

Wow, thank you for that Vhe!  ;D

Actually, singling me out makes me a bit uncomfortable. I have never posted my work online before, and honestly the response has been a bit overwhelming.

In all honesty, ner vod, as a fellow artist and someone who prizes humility as well as creativity, I must say your work is truly inspirational. I applaud your patience and the decision to do this right  to the best of your ability the first time. As for all the "gushing" I'm sure that everyone (even those with far less tact then is appreciated on these boards), is glad to see that someone is so inspired the're even willing to enlist your creative abilities at a willing cost.

Truly motivational burc'ya.

Re: Fem-mando Early Crusader (LEATHER CHEST attachment pg.48)
Alright, small update with lots of pictures. I got the end piece from the Russian gas mask attached to my leather chest piece.

The pieces that I used.

Then I used the filter piece, I guess that's what it is, to trace a circle onto the leather and cut it out. I then popped the filter piece into the hole and slid the silver ring over it and marked where all the teeth were so I could cut each slot out.

Then I put the filter back in it's cutout.

Slid the silver ring on and pushed the teeth through the cut slots.

Then I flipped it over and folded down the teeth. As you can see, I mangled the backside up ripping off the nose pieces. It needs a good filing and a piece of felt glued over it to keep it from snagging my flightsuit.

Flipped back over so you can see the whole thing.

Put the chest piece back on my dress form and screwed the hose in. You can see how flexible these hoses are; they're going to be great for moving my head around and such.

A close up of the attachment and hose.

And thankfully the hose will be permanently attached to my helmet so I wont have to walk around with and elephant trunk when the helmet is off.  :P

Getting closer to being able to start wet forming!
