Unless you know what your doing when building all your parts you really can't do anything cheaper than 400 dollars.

I built every part of my kit besides my soft parts so that took the price waaaay down but only reason I built my kit is because I knew what I was doing and I was sure I could do it cheap and get it looking good. If you don't know what your doing you either need to take it real slow (you do have time) to do it cheap, or out source your parts to try to get one quicker which will drive the price way up.

But just to give you an idea my kit cost me about 300 dollars to make. Helmet and all but again I made everything besides my soft parts and with those I did alot of shopping around which took me a great deal of time.

On this I agree. We built both his and my kits at the same time, and that saved a lot of money when you can divide up the costs. I covered half, he covered half. In the end, it came out ok.

in all fairness my latest kit is all metal...and cost me TONS less than my first kit...simply because i already had AAAAALL the materials in my garden left over form a car/trailer project me and my dad did, i had all the tools to cut it and the paint was still left over from my first kit....the vest me and jarad lan (retired) hand made using his vest as a template...we did EVERYTHING by a budget...and it still cost me around £100 for all the little extra bits (works out about $200) and that was UBER budgeting to the extreme...

Well a quick little update: I will be getting pics up once I get a freakin microSD card for my phone to get them and I've got all but my back and belly armor cut. I'm probably going to have to recut my shoulders cause they weren't done w/ the templates cause it wouldn't print along with my collar but that came out ok. Hopefully will get some help if I can make it to the AP at Jaiden's house.

OK I've just made a backup concept plan just incase I don't figure which of the previous to use.

Ok the time has finally come to turn this into my WIP. Here come pics of the work.

Ok now I'm not sure what those stick things with the circle pyramid things are but I figure there has to be some use for them. As for that piece of metal, I figured I could cut it up, bend it, and make it into my gaunts.
EDIT: I almost forgot that right now I'd say I'm at about probably $40 spent altogether.
2nd EDIT: Yes I realize the edges of the armor are kinda roughed up, I will make it look more like battle damage in the months to come so I say pre emptively Shut up Squirrel. Sorry just had to cause I've come to know how he works a little so I know he's gonna point it out.

First to Nico I"m using one of those I think it was a 35 gallon tote that now will barely hold about 3.
To Tantos, it's a Dymo label maker that I'm gonna use for a comms device sort of thing.

I was thinking more along the lines of finding a way to attach it to my shoulder because I'll be getting TMA DW gaunts and it would just ruin how they look plus I tried seeing how it would fit on my arm and it would hold my hand down uncomfortably.

Don't worry vod I'll be a Legacy Mando for V.2 when I have more money. After my Relay I'll be getting a job which will pay for armor parts, disney ticket, and other random crap like Reach.
And if you look in that thread I posted that V.2 will have to be a Legacy Mando so
