For what it's worth, I have a two piece flight suit very much prefer it.  I appreciate the relative ease of *ahem* bathroom visits.  Major "pro" for me, haha.  The problem I did have was that my pants were constantly drug downward by my holster and leg armor.  I fixed that by putting 3 buttons on that connect the pants and jacket/shirt which are easily fastened and unfastened when needed.   Something to keep in mind if you have the same problem.
My pants are indeed a scrub pants pattern, but a different material - some kind of sportswear cotton-blend Walmart fabric.  My jacket was based on a shirt that I found particularly comfortable.  I just traced it out and added a high turtleneck style collar to make my jacket.
If you're not into sewing, I totally vouch for the thrift store idea.  You can find just about anything that way.  Good luck with your flight suit!

Ok. How about some pics to back up everyone's opinions?  If you have a 2 piece flight suit, post a pic of you in armor, just the suit, or both.  I would love to see what you folks have done to help me make up my mind.

Does it count if we're female and have a 2 piece suit? *chuckle* Just did the thrift store route of finding some pants (dressier pants in this case) and a collared shirt. My ex was a bigger guy, and, while we were still working on his stuff, that was the route we were going to be doing (no pics since it never got done).

Sadly no pics without the armor, but, geared up, totally not obvious it's two pieces. (Actually, even without the armor and just the vest it's hard to tell it's not one piece. I got lucky and found some pants that almost exactly match the shade and texture of the shirt. Took a LOT of searching for that close of a match.)

Ooh. And my first two piece undersuit. This one the fabrics aren't as close of a match, but with everything on you can't really tell.

Really, I enjoy having the separate pieces so much more.

Well since I have been singled out twice in this thread I will respond a last time......

I saw a suggestion that I did not think would provide a good base for a COSTUME.  In my reply I specifically made the comment that we are SIMULATING kits that would be worn into battle.  I have seen comments made by No'saj "are you ready to go to war" in other threads.  I kinda thought you would get my meaning when I said SIMULATING.

My understanding is that this is the Mandalorian Mercs.  We are creating costumes that simulate MERCENARIES.  Mercenaries get paid to go to war.  I also believe that this is a club that wants quality costumes, and not stuff made from inferior materials.  I was sinply trying to help because the suggestion made was for (in my opinion) inferior materials.  I have nothing against a two piece suit as long as the quality is high.

My knowledge base was questioned by one member and my grasp of reality was questioned by another.  Seriously guys I was trying to help the guy out.  I am not some kid out here who thinks this is real.  I am a grown man who has seen more REALITY than most people can imagine.  What I am about is doing my best in hobby I enjoy, and helping others to do the same.
All I ever wanted to do was to travel to far off exotic places and meet new and exciting people.........and then kill them.  So I became a mercenary, and I love what I do.

Hey Mullreel,

I want to thank you for your opinions.  I started this thread to get feedback from everyone on the their thoughts on 2 piece suits.  You came through by offerring yours.  There is nothing wrong with having passion over the things you do in life, whether they be proffessionally or just hobbies.

My first approved kit has a 1 piece flightsuit, and for my second, I thought I would try out a 2 piece, and wanted some feedback from those that have done it.

Like I said, I thank you for your feedback and I take every opinion seriously.  I also think that as people type on these boards, some meanings can get lost in translation.  For example, I am basically a very sarcastic guy.  That is just the type of humor I respond to and give back.  However, my sarcasm doesn't come across very well when I am typing it out.  Perhaps the same thing has happened in this thread.  People feel very passionate about what they do, and as they are trying to express that passion, the words come out that could be taken differently than intended.

I have met many Mandos in person, and have not yet met one that would be intentionally degrading to another person.  So, being the starter of the thread, let me apologize for anything that may have been said that made you feel like that.  I am sure that was not the intention of anyone who was voicing their opinion.
