You could modify the assembly by tiger claws Drak. If you saw of the flat side of a beef's bone into plates, you can cut the basic claw-shape from it and hone it down nicely at the tip. Fresh bone is easy to carve, just stinks when heated in machine-sanding. better do that outside.
Add the mechanics, fluff it up with some fur... I did this thing about 17 years ago, when I was scavenging the trash for costuming materials. Maybe you can implement some of the alternative ideas behind it. It's harly flexible by purpose, still you won't loose feeling or flexibility on this hand:
The claws are cut from bone and mounted on a "sceleton" of three fingers from rolled-up food-can metal. The "fingers" are connected with maybe 20° flexibility to a main-plate constructed by more of those rolled up pipes which are bolstered by papermash and attached to a crocheted finger-glove. The whole construction is covered by fake-fure sewn tightly around the paper-mash and glove.
