Author Topic: New Hasbro Boba Fett Toy Blaster (see pics near bottom of first page)  (Read 8634 times)

I got one the same time as the toy bucket , it is small and the grip will only allow two adult fingers around it , this a pic comparing it to a toy rubie jango blaster , sorry i didnt have the tape measure handy , i am goin to mod it anyway , i plan to put another stock and grip on it , i have an old airgun stock which will be perfect and the handle will be no probs , i will also extend the barrel a bit too and paint , Its a great toy for the kids and might end up looking decent for a adult Mando weapon , I think that the new toys (Boba bucket and blaster) are a great thing as it exposes Mando's to a new wider audience .

That's what I was afraid of with these.  So sounds like folks are going to have to replace the grips and stocks.  We were thinking it might just be the stock.

What price was this?  I wonder if it'd be worth it to purchase, chop off at the block above the trigger and then glue a new base gun into the inside that actually fits the hand?

Similar to how folks have jammed lightsabers onto the ends of handguns to simulate the EE-3 look.

Googling shows about $27 as a base... So not a bad price, considering most NERF besides a maverick cost that much.

Yeah, it'll be 25.00 to 30.00 depending on the retailer. Considering you can make an EE-1 or EE-2 blaster, using Jare Hasan's method, for 10.00 to 12.00 each... not sure it's a good trade off. These might be good for kids, dainty guys and gals. But, these do have the electronic lights and sounds which COULD make it worth the extra money. if one wanted to say chop off the stock and make an EE-1 EE-2 pistol with it.

Now, vs. buying an EE-3 kit... no matter how you slice it, this will be much cheaper.

I got this for £ 20 , from argos . It lights up when fired , if you look close at the barrel it has slits in it to show the light , also emmits light at the end of the barrel , not as strong as a laser but in the dark it goes a few metres .

TRU has them for about $20.

No worries, I plan to buy one for my daughter to use and one for me to use as a pistol.

Keep in mind folks, as Kel said, the handle of the gun is apparently too small for adult hands.  If you're going to use it as a pistol you're still going to need to work on the handle/grip.  The one thing I hate seeing is those "pinky shots" where someone is holding a pistol that's too small for their hand and their pinky hangs over the end of the gun....

Again, here's the link to the base guns I used for the EE-1s and EE-2s.

The price has gone up...but $20 plus about $25 for the toy blaster seems like a really good deal.  Cheaper and much better than a Nerf mod, imo.

Just chop off the toys grip and stock and jam the light gun inside there, and viola!  Instant awesome blaster.

ETA:  Also, since the gun I linked to is a light gun, you could wire it's trigger into the toy blaster and still have light and sound when you shoot it.

If the stock were removed so it wasn't barring a 1/3 or so of the grip space, the handle MAY come closer to fitting a grown ups hand?

Judging by the comparison to the Westar, i doubt it.  It looks to be about the same size as those "Old West" cap guns.

Even if you cut off the stock its still too wee , I can only get two fingers on the grip , The pinky sticks out like a snooty guy drinking tea .

Mind posting a pic of the grip in your hand?  Would help to reinforce the utter smallness of it. :D LOL
