I have to quote Torus word for word on this one, that is an amazing job. I'd say rubies would use that as a mold if they could!  ;D

Awesome to hear. My dad said (as he was on a business call) and I quote, "Wow! Don you gotta see this thing. Connor built this Star Wars helmet thing and it looks amazing. He put some serious hours into this thing. It's a... what, clone trooper?" And then I hear my mom from the kitchen go, "it's a Mandalorian helmet!" My mom rocks. But yeah I was a little skepticle of the quality at first. I'm glad to hear it's not lame. Unfortunately, I'm a small dude and it's kinda big on me I think so I may finish it up and just use it as a display piece unless somebody says otherwise. I need some opinions before I even think about bothering with the interior or start saving for a DSB. Those are some truly amazing helmets, and I want one anyways, but here.

More opinions por favor. I'm a terrible judge of size and I don't have my plates and suit done to do a better comparison with, but in my opinion it looks huge.

that does look a little bit big but if you don't want to go with making another the simple answer is PADS! and FANS!
best example would be your trooping around all day with your bucket on and little to no ventilation..... let that thought stick for a moment lol yeah... hot... But that's just my two cents

It's not so much the feel I'm worried about, I got plenty of things to work with for that, it's the look. I look like an oversized bobble-head with the thing on and I feel I'd look awful grouped with awesome looking correctly proportioned mandos. Thanks for the input.

Though it is a little big I think it will blend OK with plates. BTW Fox rules! I race some of their gear.  :P

Also if it seems a little bit big even with armor you and beef up your shoulder, and collar armor and then slowly scale down on the surrounding parts to make it not seem as big

Thanks Jaiing, and yes I LOVE Fox. My first MX helmet was Fox and I still have it kickin around somewheres. It's too small for me now but I'm still an extremely loyal Fox and Alpinestar wearer. Most of my gear are those two.

Thanks for the tip. I'll probably end up doing that for now and then just keep upgrading and get a new helmet from DSB.  8)

Ideally you want your buy'ce to look pretty big on you when your in your regular clothes.  The reason being is that once you get all your kit on it'll then look proportionate to the entire costume.  As mentioned by Li'Wind Tak'mui if it still seems big you can add some padding to the shoulders to make them look wider.  Just a thought  ;)

I think that this turned out great ner vod! It does look a littl bit big on ya, but i have to agree with everyone else... once you get some armor added, it should all even out

So to bring this thread back to life, I figured I'd share what I threw together while I await the orders for the M-DSB to die down. The helmet I built? Yeah... Well my brother dropped it about 2 weeks after I failed to sell it, and I don't just mean a little drop. It fell off a roof (don't ask) and had several chips and a few major cracks. So a few days ago I decided to fix it and do a little paint experiment. I've never really done weathering like this before, so please forgive the awfulness, but at least now I know how to do it correctly! I found a link on here to some Halo armor being painted on Youtube and decided to give the heavy black primer and then wipe approach. I started out okay and then decided to go heavier as I noticed it wiped off easier the heavier it went on. Unforunately, I tried it over and over again in the same spot and it stained black. Oh well. Live and learn. It was just sitting around as scrap anyways. Now when I get my M-DSB I'll be able to paint it... well if not perfect, at least good. So here's what I got.

Since I'm so selfish, I'm going to say that this guy inspired the airborne clones to paint they're armor like this, but realistically I just love that paint scheme so I tried it on a mando bucket. So that's it. Also, I got all of my armor templates put on flattened 4" PVC ready for cutting but my dremel charger quit so I'm awaiting a new charger or new jigsaw blades. Also, my vest is almost done, just a few fitting issues to fix. I'll post those up soon but I'm not dead for anybody that checked this out before.

Thanks!  8)

Looks like your helmet got caught in a jet wash, very cool.  ;)

That is sweet! I love the paintjob! And now that I see what a helmet looks like without the small ring around the front of the top of the visor... I might have to do something like that for my kit! Props to you for making it this far, even if you don't use it evar(!) again... Just know that you have built something with amazing Craftsmanship skillz!
