Fett Style Gaunts WIP (A sneak preview)

Yes and no... >_> Here's my WIP thread, but since I posted those up, I've been so caught up in the process when I'm working on them that I keep forgetting to take pics. *embarrassed headdesk* I'll be good and take some tonight showing where I am right now.

Very nice! I'm liking where this is going. I've got a set of Skip's pepakura gaunts that I'm working on, but they're taking forever for me to finish... Keep on keeping us posted and I'll gather some creds when these hit production!

Another progress report for you all:
After cutting out the halves of styrene, I held them together to see how they match up. I was pleasantly surprised to see that either through Alan's design (which is more likely) or through my fumbling, I was actually able to get them to match up end to end (after trimming them of course).The recessed areas all line up, so these guys are ready to go! The next step will be to experiment with the plastic to see which one works best for these gaunts. For now I'll set these aside and get to working on the left gaunt top half.






As promised, here are some pics of the preliminary master:






I have a feeling just from seeing this pull that I'm going to have to go back to the bottom half of the left gaunt and trim the circumference down a bit to make it match up with this one. I won't know till for sure till I pull a test piece though. That's it for now, next step will be pouring a plaster buck like I did with the first one and getting that cleaned up and pulling some test pieces. Stay tuned!

Thank you all VERY MUCH for the kind words. I still have quite a bit to do, but I am moving forward on this project..albeit a little slower than I would like. I recently switched jobs so I'm having a bit of a challenge adjusting my schedule and making time..but I assure you, these WILL get done (I doubt if they'll be done by CV though...sorry mates ) Plus still filling orders in between...so, busy busy. Also, some of you may or may not know this, but I have been solo as IOA for a while now...so please be patient, it's a lot of work for one guy (not accounting for burnout factor lol)
Right now I'm looking at between $65 and $70 for the clam shells alone (those will include some of the vacformed attachments like the flame thrower on the left gaunt)
I AM definitely planning on doing the greeblies Ijaat.  That will likely raise the price another $40 or $50 depending on cost of materials, complexity, etc.(just a ballpark guesstimate) I'll keep you all posted on that as it progresses, but for now I'm going to concentrate on getting the clams done as quickly as possible to make them available to everyone.
I figure a lot of you will want to customize these to your own liking so most will likely only want the clam shells anyway... at least for now.
However, I will be selling these separate or with the greeblie kits (once they become available) so that you can pick and choose what you want. Either way, I think it'll be a win win for everyone. Hopefully I've answered everyone's questions (and some potential ones lol)

I probably won't start up an interest thread just yet because heheh well, I don't have them yet. I don't like to offer stuff that I don't actually have in my hand...call me crazy but that's just the way I like to cover my butt And Alex kind of jumped the gun the last few times and it caused a few headaches on our end because the product wasn't ready yet. But don't worry everyone, there'll be enough of these to go around once I start production. I'll keep posting here in the WIP so that you all know where I'm at and as soon as they're ready for production, I'll start up a thread in the TS and possibly post a link to it in here (and vice versa)..if I can remember hahah.

Sweet... I like the price. Even a bit higher would be fine. And i've seen most if not all the product you make in person, and I gotta tell ya man, it's all quality, so i'll hold off on buying a pair elsewhere to nab one here. With or without greeblies.

I'm really pleased that you guys are digging this stuff...it really does mean a lot to me because it lets me know that I'm at least going in the right direction...not to mention that I'll be wearing this stuff myself as a replacement set for my old armor and guants...so at least you know that I'm making stuff that I'm proud to wear as well  . But ya, I'll keep you all updated as often as I can as this progresses

i want a set when these are done .....the resin ones i just picked up are wayyyy undersized and dont fit my forearms....
