So I've started to REALLY work on my gaunts (after moving multiple timezones, waiting for all my stuff to arrive, etc), and I've kinda hit a snag... I've got a good set of gaunts that are resin, and I've gotten them appropriately sanded, and I've done a base coat of spray paint.

Problem #1: I didn't like the resin calculator pad for the left gaunt that came with the set, and I wanna swap it out with a rubber pad from a remote control. It comes up a little higher, there's more definition to the individual buttons, and it just looks/feels nicer... And it fits. The problem is that I'm having a devil of a time attaching the bugger.I used normal modelling cement; it worked for a few days, and then today the dumb thing fell off. Anyone know of a gluing solution that would work?

Problem #2: How to attach the gaunts to my flight suit. I'm thinking of using some heavy duty velcro I found a whle back. I've been debating using it in a "wrap around" kind of configuration.... but that might be kinda hard to use.... idk.

I found (and happily so) custom milled aluminum rocket and darts at Tk409.com... I want to add some more zip to the gaunts... so extra weaponry/different hardware... Pics will follow!!!

CA or Zap glue should keep it on there, I'd be very surprised if it didn't. Could always use a two part epoxy, but that would probably be overkill. Probably should of waited for the pic's, but why would you need to attach your guants to your flightsuit? Padding or elastic should be more then enough to keep the guants in place. Or are you not using clamshell guants? Then your going to need some type of leather straping to keep them attached.

Have a good one,
Hagen

i hat to use a piece of the frame from the calculator.

the frame piece is the part that is actuallt glued down. ruber buttons are a pain to work with, hard to gue, hard to paint.nothing sticks to em.

try a little clear silicone caulking as the glue. that might get a grip.

Hm... CA and Zap I havent heard of- I'll have to look it up. Overkill is always an option with me... silicone might be something worth looking into... and I've thought cutting up the frame... but that could get a little messy, and detract from the appearance, so it'll be a last resort, I think. If nothing else works, I'll try it, and hope that I dont mess up the frame so much... (I tend to do that cutting sometimes)

Anyone know where I can get some good greeblies?

all my greebs usually come from the non"wet" garbage items. every thing gets a greeb inspection before going out.

the world is your kit-bash parts box ;)

check my left gaunt thread to see how i used a portion of the frame to secure the buttons and still be able to press them in.
