I belive on the SW TOR site and in the new book Decieved it mentions her as a mandalorian. I'm 99% sure on this, so I'll check agian later. With the timeline that TOR falls into though, this could be considered late crusader armor. I think the only problem with this build and the current CRL's for that time period is the helmets lack of a T type visor.

Either way, it's an awesome looking set of armor and it's really something I'd like to see come to life. Keep up the good work and keep us posted Shae ;D

Have a good one,
Hagen

Also her last name is Vizsla, she is most likely an elder to the Mandalorian Pre Vizsla and the Deathwatch leader Tor Vizsla.

No s in her name :) But it's not clear if this is deliberate or a typo that got through development ;) Heck though she has a name she is just referenced as the female bounty hunter in the novel Deceived. Though I think she is specifically named as Mando, I read the first chapter or so online...
http://www.torlegends.com/articles/news-items/134-tor-deceived-novel-released-tomorrow.html
Yep, in that excerpt :)

I wanted to do this armour since before she was named and her species specified, I was a little surprised that she is Mandalorian, and yet not very- Bounty Hunter seems to mean Mando to a lot of people though of course this is not true.

Meanwhile I have got the first layer of resin on the card. I also scanned and printed the back plate, which is looking much better than my first tests. So that has been resined too.

And now for sleep and in the morning I shall be measuring the diameter of the pipes I collected and see what can be made of them.

Well Looking at the TOR website and under articles it states: " Darth Malgus strikes a crippling blow against the unprotected Coruscant. Malgus forces his way into the Jedi Temple accompanied by his Twi'lek companion Eleena Daru and a Mandalorian mercenary. "   Now with that in mind and seeing the teaser video of the sith storming the jedi temple, the only one that fits this discription is the character Shae Vizla for the Mandalorian Mercenary.   So T visor or no T visor they are saying she's a Mandalorian Merc..... lol  ;D

Hey I was wondering are you going to make a decent working version of Shae's wrist datapad.
Cause I was planning on making something similar but I'd also like to see your version to compare it to.

The CRL for that era says T visor, TT visor + visor or any other canon referenced type.

TOR actually falls after the Neo Crusader Era but from what Ive seen it has literally every Era's armor in it... Early Crusar, Late Crusader, Neo Crusader and Modern (mechanics for game play and sales I would assume)... it makes it beyond confusing. We will likely never have a CRL for the era because of that. However, appropriate armors based upon the characters would be acceptable when submitted referenced to their proper era.

Shea's would be Late Crusader.

Also her last name is Vizsla, she is most likely an elder to the Mandalorian Pre Vizsla and the Deathwatch leader Tor Vizsla.
The problem there is that Shae lived (according to the novels timeline) 3650 Before the Battle of Yavin. That far back, for all we know she could be the progenitor of the Skywalker Bloodline. The name really means nothing.

However, as ShaeVizla said, it does indeed refer to her in the book (from Darth Malgus's perspective) as 'The Mandalorian'. He doesn't know her name, nor does he care to know, but going by the trailer and the book there's no doubt that 'The Mandalorian' is Shae.

That said, my opinion would be that, were someone to perfectly replicate the image of Shae Vizla from the trailer, the non-standard helmet should be allowed for approval. Any other costume that was not Shae, or an established mando of that era, would have to have the proper visor. However, it's up to the App Team as to whether they'd allow it, and:
The CRL for that era says T visor, TT visor + visor or any other canon referenced type.

Of course, you should definitely still do the costume anyway, and I've no doubt that everyone on here will be willing to offer advice, answer any questions and whatnot :). You could always do up a second helmet with a T, TT or + visor for official status, and swap it out for the proper Shae helmet at anything that isn't an 'Official Event'.

I stand corrected, it's been a while since I've seen the trailer :P. I thought hers just had the two goggle-like eye visors.

Welcome to the Mercs and good luck on your armor. I personally love that character, been looking at her face for the past three years waiting for SW: TOR Online to come out.

I like your body form, is that store bought or custom to your body?

lol! Come back to a bit of character scrutiny ;) Funnily enough I just spotted something today which made me really start to push forward with this costume :)

I had seen pictures of the Mini Bust, obviously but not the blurb that goes with it. Interesting to say the least. It is possibly a spoiler as I haven't seen anything on the official site or in the novel.... But yeah she is a vital character in the game :) Unless GG have jumped the gun...
http://www.gentlegiantltd.com/product_p/80144.htm
Spoilers in there if they are true...

We won't go into how some SW related media products play merry heck with EU... I'm a Night Sister and Sith tatoo fan girl as well s well and have a few thoughts on that in regards to a different series.. ;)

So. My armour progress this week:

Printed base patterns for the chest armour. Made to fit me, though a little wiggle room for scaling up and down. Still not sure if I need to add more to this base. For me I'm going to rey and get dimention by layering where needed. This is not a 3D model that I pepped but is patterned on the dummy.

So, score one for inorganic collection! PVC pipe galore and all free! Most from one house too. Must have had a total lumbing refit.
So the greaves in the artwork are pretty flat, I decided to cut and shape from the pvc pipe. Sigh. Not as easy as it might have been due to a few issues. So I am going to have to make a solid base and then use these pieces over that. Luckily they soften nicely with a heat gun. It's trying to shape them that is not working out.I need to tape as I go which doesn't relaly happen to work well on real legs...

So here I ma putting plasticine all over the legs of my mannequin. She is alien. Her legs are really skinny front on but in profile really wide. What you don't see here is my final shape which has the clay scraped right back from the front and back and a little more from the sides taken out. I think I took off a good 800gm shaving with a ruler.

And tonight I got cloth over those legs and in the back of the chest armour.

I will be trying to make a decent go at the electronics. I know I can solder and plot up circuit diagrams but it is going to require me buying some more kit- I need something to hold everything as I solder. My joints are pretty clumsy atm because of not being able to keep things steady and supported.

The dummies I am using are both ex shop stock. The half mannequin is a really really good match to me, more idealised but still a really good match. It means I can build armour directly in it as well as drape patterns on it. I got my Imperial Officer uniform looking really sharp and spiffy because of it.

I'm no stranger to casting and mold making or sculpting :) This is just going slower due to a lot of really bad health issues. Epoxy resin allergy aside. Bad contact allergy. But it's not the worst.

lol! No, the allergy is not fantastic ;) And I need to take a break soon as I am definitely itchy tonight...

As expected the card buckled a bit. No biggie as it really only buckled where the next layer goes over. This is more card and corrugated card all soaked in more resin and stuck in place. Cellotape is holding it in place while the curing takes place. Inelegant but it works. It should be sturdy enough once the final layer of cloth and tissue go over and be fairly light as the corrugated card is only soaked not filled with the resin.
