Hey All , not sure if you know me or not, so let me introduce myself.  I am Jarell Naas (Sam Hornedo) and have been acting as both the Liaison to the Mercs for the 501st and the SDCC Liaison for the Mandalorian mercs. Like last year we will need our Vod to step up and put some time in at our table.  Last year I believe we had 2 or three hour shifts with a group of 2 at a minimum to watch the table and the display.  TO be available to answer questions from any interested parties interested about the mercs/  I will be posting a grid of the days for SDCC and the time slots available.  We will need to have at least 2 to 3 people to commit to setting up daily and tearing down nightly.  We cannot leave anything of value at our table as there is no security provided overnight in the fan area.  I have heard many a story of exhibitors in the fan area losing valuable items because they thought they had hidden them well enough.  As always, lets make it a fun con, but lets also remember we each represent the larger Mercs group, and any one misinterpretation of behavior or words said can have a negative affect on the group as a whole.  Like I tell my troopers in the Legion, "Don't do or say anything you wouldn't want to do in front of your mother...."  That being said, lets have a great time and  lets get some sign ups for the table

OYA!!!!!

I have created an on line spreadsheet which members can edit and fill in their table assignments.

You can access that here

I'll definitely take some time, but I need to see the events schedule first, last year we got mixed up and confused between our table time and events, and completely forgot to show up for our scheduled time, and Dawn ended up having to fill in for us. Not fair to her.

So, once I get an time table on certain events I'll fill in for some time on Friday and Saturday.

And don't worry about my behavior, the only people that need to worry about misbehavior from me is the Twilight Kids.  Cheesy

And Sam, sadly Xyon and I can't do the opening slot this year. We'll have the kids with us and they can't go into the con until opening hours so the 2nd shift for us all 4 days...I think it was 10am till noon or so. The kids will hate waiting to run aroun the con and see what these cons are all about but they can just wait! We plan to put their armour together for CC. A family of 5...and with a stroller..fun!  Roll Eyes Wink

Zarah, do kids have to be 18 to help set up the table?  I'd be able to help do the opening slot if my 14 yr old can come with me that early.  I doubt we'll be official by then but we will have our kandosii'la new Mercs' shirts on Smiley
I'm going to try parking at the Con since we're stuck a mile away. (unless by some miracle a room at the Marriott opens up)
Oh, and I can haul stuff  Grin

sadly, no, he can't. We're in the same boat. Children can't come into the con until the doors are open to public. If we had someone to watch the kids out of the con in the morning, we'd grab 8am-10am to set up.

And thank you though for the offer. You're very kind!

Well, since Steven can't get in early maybe we could entertain them while you and Xyon do what you need to do....at least on opening day?  I completely understand if you don't feel comfortable.  We'll be in San Diego at the beginning of Comic Con week visiting relatives that I haven't seen since I was 5.  (I'm 54! Roll Eyes) You and the little ones could meet us ahead of time and decide.

I finally got an email regarding my hotel situation and I'm on a waiting list for a room at the Marriott.  Fingers crossed.

Anyway, just an idea.  We'd certainly be glad to help!

We might be able to do something like that BUT, I have 3 little monsters! Don't know if you can handle that! I'm hoping for those of us at the con early do to parking war, maybe we can all meet up at the park right behind the con and Joes Crab Shack and try to stay together. Even a good reason too so we can watch armour tubs. I always park right behind the con at the park. and Cando, you're worse my dear vod!!

Three little monsters?  Thanks for being honest!  My patience isn't what it used to be. I better just stick to taking care of Steven.  With his ADD he's liable to get hyperfocused on something and wind up on a bus to Tijuana!

The parking idea sounds good though.

I'll be happy to cover any spots not chosen after the schedule for Con is released and I know what forums I want to go to.

I'll pitch in for some shifts too... I just need to find out what my schedule is... but you can probably put me in for some shifts on Sunday and most likely Saturday afternoon too if needed.
