That will make a very impressive back piece. It will be a very ambiscious build getting the shaping and placement down just right but, it should look quite impressive when done.

Thanx A'den. I just hope the plastic I'm using will bend cooperatively with the heat gun.

As I feared, the plastic was more than a little uncooperative so I hit up a couple sign shops here in town and got some sintra out of their scrap piles and was able to come up with this

Alignment is a little outta wack I know... Not easy to get shaped plastic to lay flat

Were you talking about the front vs the back? The lighting was different with the back plates, taken inside instead of outside like everything else was.

Only thing I've shown for the back were the paper templates I had drawn up. I'll confess that I'm less than satisfied with the weathering but I ran out of paint to redo everything. Unless you're meaning the outer back pieces looked wider on paper. I'll tape them on as-is in the morning and get a pic here in the thread so I can see what they actually look like on me so we can figure out what needs fixed. There's 3 more sign shops in town I can hit up for sintra, so material shouldn't really be an issue hopefully.

Been forever since I did anything on my kit but I'm currently working on the gauntlets. I'll get some pics up in the next day or 2 once I get the  pieces sanded down seeking guidance on how to build them up to look like something other than bland plates.

Started off with a set of Adult and a set of peewee shin guards

In order to get an even surface, I used a fiberglass tape and after glassing the tape, slapped on a layer of bondo and sanded it down.

Still have to fill in the bigger depressions in the surface before I can do much else
Theory is place the individual guards like this for the gauntlets.

This is all tentative and I'm more than open to suggestions.

I recently acquired a set of shins from Imperial Outpost Armory, fronts and backs. Are these acceptable for use in a Mando kit?

The TOR Jedi ones or some clone trooper ones? The TOR Jedi ones are good to go assembled and painted. Clone troopers on the other hand, while not a direct CRL issue are looked down upon unmodded. Now if you have the shins with say clone guants or anything else reminiscent of clone armor, you’re going to start falling into CRL issues.

As they currently stand they will not pass, as we can tell they are shinpads. If you fully enclose them and add enough mods to them that you can't tell what they are, then you might have a chance. Having said that, sports armour is not allowed.  ;)

I'm currently on take 2 of modding what I intend to be the left one. Kriffing thing irritates me much more I'm just gonna order a set of gaunts from someone

To be honest, I'm not sure. IOA listed them as GM shins but they don't look like it to me. Nor do they resemble clone or storm trooper. I'll get a pic up here in a bit. I'm pondering on how to mod the right one to look like extra armor has been added to it.

If you got shins from IOA, Redkraytdragon on  here, then they are Jango shins as those are the only shins he is doing at the moment, as far as I know. I just checked his thread here and the only things that are listed as GM, which I assume you mean Galatic Marine, are a set of knees.

Not trying to cause problems, just trying to clarify what you are talking about.

No problem vod. Here's a pic of what I got from him.

I may have simply brainfarted as to what he says they were supposed to be. Knowing me the way I do, that's highly likely.

Those are not the shins he has on the list. I don't recognize them as something he does at all, or he hasn't talked about them or posted about them on his thread either here or on TDH. They look like trooper shins to me, but I am not one hundred percent sure.

Sent you a PM
