WIP: Krayt Dragon Armor
« on: Apr 13, 2010, 10:04 PM »
Alright well I just got a new dremel and decided to start on my armor. I cut it out and sorta sanded it down. How does it look for my first cut? Do I need to scratch this one and start over?

sorry for the chocolate covered shirt I just got off of work

Spacing is way off. MOve the chest plates up so they are about 1/2" under your clavicle bone and 1/2" from each other on the inner teeth. They look like they may be too small for you but, until they are properly placed, can say for sure.

Also, save yourself some aggrevation and cut the sterilte bin with scissors instead of the dremel. It's actually less work lol.

So I cant work on my armor tonight because I'm doing so commission work for weapons but I thought I'd share this.

I dont have a heat gun but I have a heat shrink that we use to melt plastic to seal lids :) Put my armor in this for a few mins and It will be easy to bend haha

You need to recut the chest plates to be proportionatly sized to the ab plate.

Just an update. I taped it on to a shirt to see the fitting. Its still unformed and my only way to heat it up broke this morning.
How does it look? Should I just scrape this?

chest plates look great. you could close up the gap between them by about 1/2 what they currently are. then, trim the ab plate to fit.

Nice! Have you decided on colors yet?

Okay I will.
Yes I'm going to do sandish gold armor with a burgundy vest  and a black jumpsuit

Here is just a small update. I was just experimenting with some thoughts I had. Since my mando hunts Krayt Dragons I thought of trying to do Dragon scaling on some of the armor. Coke Tabs are my first try at it. How do they look?

Maybe try just spraypainting over them then take them off , but not a good look if you just stick them on , you should sand your plates too they look a wee bit rough , keep at it vod  ;)

i think if you maybe covered them it could work. but as they stand theyre pretty identifiable as pop tops. whats your plan from this point?

Like I said I was just experimenting with this. I would like to see my armor plates looked scaled like they have been covered in Krayt Dragon hide. I have a few ideas this was just one. If anyone has any ideas that would be great
