I started the left-hand crush gaunt tonight, creating the shapes for the three center fingers and sewed them up with thread for testing.
(no piece is identical, better number them)
Thumb and pinky will be covered as well and the knuckle plate has to be reshaped a bit and needs an elastic fixture to the wrist that pulls it back when the fingers are outstretched. For now, my attention rested on the dimensions and agility of the center fingers which define the overall design.
Surprisingly, I can still handle my camera at this claw length, but I'll definitly not increase that length. I hate fingerrings and nail polish in my daily life, actually. So I made sure that I can take off the crush gaunt without touching the gauntlet
that coveres my lower arm to the elbow.
...And I still have to figure a way to fix the elements when working in metal and no longer paper.
