The crazy kid's idea: working data pad
« on: Mar 25, 2010, 05:12 PM »
I haven't made any armor yet (Cause I'm just gonna grow out of it!), but i was thinking of having my Ipod Touch as part of the left gauntlet.
I may be able to use on of the shoulder carriers for runners as the base or possibly a hard case mounted on top of a gaunt. The tricky part is not having it be an obvious, but actually making it look like a real data pad. I think this would be cool, and if somebody tries this, I'm looking for input. If you try this and manage to hot glue your ipod to your armor, please don't sue me
Please tell me what you think: Totally insane or should I go for it.

It's been done before! No prob, the best way to get around it looking like you have an iPod strapped to your arm is to make the gaunts oversized, the cut a window into the top of the gaunt and have your iPod (preferably in a case  :D) velcroed to the inside of you gauntlet.

As for the armor, get yourself some sintra, make the armor, and then remake it every now and again when it needs updating because you've grown. Sintra is cheap and easy enough to work with.
