Heat Gun Molding Question

I will have all my armor cut out in the next week. What is the best way to mold the armor using a heat gun? Do I mold it little by little or do it all at once? Any help with this small task would be greatly appreciated.

well, i like to heat it all up, then i bend it into the generall shape..... then i do the little area heating to get it excatly right. ;D
