Hey everyone!
I've cut out my back plates and thought I'd start my WIP for armor...

I really like that, Anj'ika. Ive always been a sucker for uniqueness. And being as there's no specific rule to back plates, I'm glad you're taking advantage of that.

How  do you plan to attatch them?

yeah, how do you keep em on? i use snaps. they work pretty well but if i tighten my vest too much one of them pops off when i bend down!

Anj'ika, your backplate is comming along very nicely.  ;)

Thanks :)
The design was inspired by motorcycle armor and Nadia's jacket from the movie Pandorum. I wanted to balance out the front and back of the costume since most of the detail and design goes into the front. I figured I'd take advantage of the rules a little. ;D

I'd like to see the designs you guys have for your plates! They seem the way to go for comfort and flexibility.

I've been told heavy duty snaps work really well, especially to keep the plates in place, so I plan on trying that out. these are 3mm Sintra.

i think the snaps are the most conveniant way if you need to take plates off, but the placement must be exact or, like i said if there is too much tension in one spot they will pop..trial an error..

Looks great! Snaps work very well. Let me know if you need some suggestions. I sort of came up with my own way of doing it.

heres a quik look at my backplates. i cant find the underside pics with the snaps showing ,but the pic with the plates hangin from a chair are all snapped up...there a pic to see size verses the other plates. btw i used pop rivets to secure snaps. what will you use to hold them?
when i first made em.

all snapped up and on old bullet proof vest

and comparison to other plates. the color is supposed to look like ancient bronze plate taken from a tomb.

hope you gets some extra ideas!

Cool segmented design.
Tyrian's the Mando to ask exactly how he did the snaps, I'll be taking his advice.
From what I remember from the advice he gave me at the armor party, he glued one half of the snap to a piece of plastic then glued that to the underside of the armor. Then using chalk ect. on that snap placed the plate where he wanted it leaving the exact placement for the other half of the snap.

i think rivets are strongerfor the plate side , but whatever floats your boat..
