I know people have put LCD screens from phones into mice for computers.  I'll see if I can dig up a link.  But they did it on ~10v, so it shouldn't be overly hard to drop something like that into a bucket and wire it up to a camera input.

it would be great! but my brother had some of that toys to, and the quality is very bad. He had the "alarm" and the night vision goggles thingy, but the alarm worked great, if you stepped in 0,5m range of the laser, and the night vision goggles was only a binoculars with a led-light at his side, so it would only work if you looked in the dark at something in a range of 10cm  :P. Maybe this car is not a bad quality thing, but for so far I know, the cheaper toys, are very bad quality. Hope this will help you  :D

edit: sorry, didn't see, you already bought him  :-X. But does it work like "it should be"?  :)

i cannabalized the eyeclops night vision v.1....
and it broke, though i don't know why!  it worked after the fact...it just quit one day!
though customer service said they'll fix the problem (even though it was my fault) just to see what i do with it!
lol
