Apart from 2 minor (repairable) breaks, I was dead happy as to how the kit held up under 2 days heavy trooping, I will need to cushion my new jetpack harness, I can live with the pain, but I wasn't complaining when I took it off to go on the rides in the afternoon of the second day (But it was scuppered and I wasn't going to be walking the distance to go back and get it), so some of the photies will be minus jet pack.

LOVE this armor!  The designs on the plates really make it "pop".
The armor is simply a manifestation of an impenetrable, unassailable heart.

My LadySewForUs gear has come today, though it cost me £80 in import duty (Sigh), whilst being my most expensive piece I have ever bought for my kit, I think this is pretty much the nail on the head.

Apologies for the picture, just me an a mirror, so it doesn't do the stuff justice, but it fits perfectly.

Will be building new plates for this kit when I get back from holiday.

Ok,

So it took me a lot longer than I thought to get around to getting these plates done. Simple fact is I have been swamped with helmet orders that I haven't really had time to sit down and sort out my own kit.

Fortunately, when I came back from a troop the other day, my Sintra was waiting for me.

I've decided to go a little experimental with this new vest, simply because the Lady Sewforus vest is beautifully made and I don't want to ruin it by sticking velcro tabs all over it.

No, this time I will mostly be going the way of rare earth Magnets.

Yes, Magnets sunk into the plate and then another magnet being placed behind the vest to keep the plate still.

Anyhoo, here are the plates cut and (initially) bent.

They are next to my current plates, which still have life in them, but will become a back up set.

I also have a backplate.

My current plan is to segment the collar and the backplate for better movement, if I am stuck kitting up alone.

Comments, suggestions and questions all happily accepted! :)

I kept my templates for the original plates, so those plates are cut to the exact size of the others. :)

My rare earth magnets have come through and so I've been spending the curing time with my helmets installing them.

I used a flat headed sanding bit for my dremel and whizzed it into the Sintra to dig out a hole.

I hot glued the magnets in.

Once I had done all that (and finished the first part of the reinforcements on my buckets) I went to try the plates on, realising the belly plate template was a little big (I remember I cut it down last time) I gave it a bit of a cutting down.

So here's me:

I'll be segmenting the collar plate this time round and the belly plate is stuck on with tape.

So I'm on fit and form right now... have at it guys, let me know where I need to sort it.

Let me know if the hot glue holds the magnets well.  I used plastic weld and they will break before they come off.  This I know because I had to change one out and it broke!  I use heavy duty duct tape on the inside of my vest (leather) to make it easier if I want to change things up.  Wish I had thought to sink them into the sintra before gluing.

Nice bud :) here's what I'm seeing

Collar is a smig to wide but as you are segmenting it that will prob sort it out

Gut plate looks like (your left) is wider than your chest plates ;) might just be a shaping thing though

Cool, thanks bud, spotted the collar and was going to give it a trim, but gut plate noted.
